CJ--just to add to what Krista said, I was surprised to read the strict no headphones rule on their website as well. As I think back on the course, though, I really don't remember seeing anyone with headphones, so they may be pretty serious about enforcing this one. The nice thing about the course is that there's quite a bit of entertainment between spectators cheering, bands, scenery, etc. There really aren't any stretches of long, boring highway like the later miles of the Disney full course.
Hope this helps.

We did the 10k last year and wore our iPods and ear phones and a few friends of ours wore theirs in the Full and the half.
If you wear phones, be good race citizens, leave them out till you are in the clear, if your bunched up you need to hear the other contestents who are trying to get by you. Even when you are clear make sure you are aware of your suroundings.
Of course you could just suck it up and leave them home and enjoy the natural high of the course and the crowd support.
