Ok, so here's the deal. Since my son doesn't have a passport yet, we have to drive across the border:headache: blaahhh!!! lol

So last Christmas he and I flew Jet blue to Burlington..wasn't so bad, I really liked the live tv.. but I heard there's an airport in Plattsburgh that also flies direct to MCO. Sooooooo, anyone ever flown from there b4? I think the carrier is Allegiant Air..(lol to be honest I'm kinda scaredprincess: I've been spoiled by AirCnada, lol but I'm willing to try it)

Still trying to get his passport approvedpirate:... I'm pretty :badpc: for having to do this tedious process, but at least then we can come and go as we please:banana:

I thought that I read in a thread here... that it does not fly right to MCO.. that it goes to the other Orlando airport

I'm pretty sure you have to have a passport for land crossings into the US now too. I think that came into effect June 1/09.

From Platsburgh, you fly to Sanford, not Orlando (MCO)... and you will not have the Magical Express from there.

For the passport, since last June you need one!

Wow, really? That changes things.. I thought it was MCO:confused3... is Sanford far? Hmmm, something to think about:scratchin

I thought I read on the passport website that children under 16 don't need one to cross by land... my son is only 1yr old. Crossing my fingers:wizard:

Actually adults do have to have a passport, NEXUS card etc and children do not require a passport for entry to US via land.
From the CBSA web site "Canadian citizens aged 15 years or under are only required to present proof of Canadian citizenship, such as an original or a photocopy of a birth certificate, or an original citizenship card."

I think that's is about an hour to drive from Sanford to Disney's area

You're wright about that when you are passing by car, he just need a birth certificate... but I don't know if he will need one to take the plane after that, even if it's in the USA
:)

Sanford is about 45 minutes away from the world. In 2005 we landed there and booked transport that brought us to WDW, it cost us 200.00 for the transport plus we had a 30 minutes stop to get groceries. However if you check Allegiant air web site they don't fly out every day . Usually a friday or Monday.:goodvibes

Burlington, VT might be another option for you. It is close to Montreal as well and has non-stop flights to MCO. Jet Blue is one option and they even have the resort check-in with Disney for coming home.

We flew out of YUL last year, but are considering BTV to get the resort check-in.

Good luck!

As I mentioned before, BTV is also close and Right now Jet Blue is having an airfare sale starting at $89/one-way!

Good luck!!!:goodvibes
