Hello all,

We are taking a trip at the end of Oct (23-28 to be exact). There are 14 of us and would prefer if can to fly out of Milwaukee. When do the best rates start to show? I periodically check all of the sites and $203 right now best deal. I know we have a ways to wait but just wanted opinions/experiences when flying at this time of year!

TIA

First get on the Milwaukee airport's website to find out what carriers use that site. Then you can periodically check those carriers websites for price. I'm waiting for June 3rd week prices and they will be on my carriers' website next week--so it may be another few months before you can even view October 07 dates. Not sure where you live, but I heartily recommend Rockford/chicago at Rockford, IL:goodvibes if that is an option. Allegient Air flys in and out of Sanford which is same distance as ORD yet no hassle as it's a smaller regional airport. If you aren't shopping around for airports, you'll need to stick with the carriers that use Milwaukee, so that will cut down on alot of the second-guessing yourself. Allegient is offering $79 each way for my time of year and I can definately live with that!:thumbsup2

You might try calling Midwest Airlines and asking for group sales. Minimum size is 8 people, and I think you might get a discount.
Their website lists the group travel numbers as:
In Milwaukee: 414-570-3655
Outside Milwaukee: 888-601-4296, select option 1

Hey I live in Milwaukee as well and it sounds like a good deal that you are looking at. Just some flight info out of Mitchell. Midwest has the only direct flight out which can be a lifesaver with kids. I also have flown other airlines and really would pay the extra for Midwest any day. They have their first flight out at 7:30 which is the one that we always take putting us at our resort around 12:30. The next flight at 9:30 has the big leather seats in it which are definately nice. We are booked for August 4-12 and paid $228 after all fees. They also sometimes offer a discount to large groups so that would be worth asking about.

I'm in Milwaukee too (Brookfield). I just got $188 for December 2007 and $205ish for end of May/beginning of June at Midwest.

AirTran, the one that is trying to buy Midwest, also has a direct flight. We took it in September. It was fine, but I agree. My preference is Midwest. I like flight 692 in the morning, which leaves at 9:45am and gets us to our hotel by 3:00pm with ME. On the way home we like flight 693. If you are using ME they pick you up around 11am or 11:30am and you are in the MKE ariport at around 3:40pm.

That is a pretty good rate, I dont think you will get alot lower. Fly Midwest

And Midwest is super. I live 10 minutes from O'Hare and always take the hour drive north to use both the Milwaukee airport and Midwest. :thumbsup2
