Hi, Flying on Southwest out of Manchester in August. What's the airport like? Is it anything like flying out of TF green in Providence? What's the parking like? Are the parking lots for long-term (going for 7 days) easy to find for someone who's never flown in or out of Manchester? Any info would be greatly appreciated!:wizard:

Hi Cruella's Hubby!

I fly out of MHT all the time. It is a great airport. Very easy to move around etc. Parking is very close. There is a main garage and then some long term lots a bit further from the main terminal. Did you check the website? We don't use the long term parking since I live locally. We are leaving from MHT in August for Orlando also on Southwest.

Hi

I have flown out of Manchester a couple of times. I live in So. ME.

It is a beautiful airport! It feels very new and modern. I have not flown out of Providence so I can't help you there.

There is plenty of parking and the lots are well marked so they should be easy for you to find. You will probably need to take a shuttle back to the airport after you park int he long term.

I don't know if this is an option for you but if you stay at the Holiday Inn (by the airport the night before)you can keep your car parked there for free. I think the cost was something like 150 per night.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your flight!

we flew out of MHT this past January and it was easy to get around etc. We prefer TF Green since it's closer to us and then we don't need to drive through Boston to get there. When we went in January, we parked the car at The Highlander Inn. Good prices, fast shuttle to the terminal.

MHT is such a great airport!! Its so easy to park and the shuttles from the long term lots are frequent and fast. Last time we flew, I believe long term parking rates were $8 a day. btw, hygienejean, what part of so maine are you from? I am from berwick.....just over the border of NH.

Thank you all for the responses! It sounds like I'll have nothing to worry about getting around the airport. I was a little nervous because our flight leaves at 6:00 in the morning, which means we'll have to get there around 4:00-4:30. We looked into staying at a hotel (with airport parking)the night before but as luck would have it, DD has a wedding to go to the night before our flight but thanks for the suggestion! Once again thanks to all of you for the info!

We have also flown out of Manchester several times, it is a great airport, the long term parking is well lit and the shuttle service is excellent. we live about 40 miles from Bar Harbor Maine.but well worth it to drive to Manchester for us, you can't beat the deals on flights. We are also flying from there on August 21 to Orlando also a 6am flight. we are staying on Disney property for the first time. Everyone is soooo excited. :cheer2:

I love this airport! If you print out your boarding passes before leaving home, you can curb side check in your luggage, unless it will be too early for curbside check in.

There have never been any lines when we go, eveyone is so friendly and it's so clean.

The TSA agent even asked if we had maple syrup in our bag! (you know, the whole liquid ban thing...) Never would have thought about that one.

My husband usually drops us off curbside and he goes to park. We go in the airport to wait while he takes the shuttle back. When we get home, I get the bags and he takes the shuttle to get the car and the whole process runs very smoothly.

Excellent! Sounds like we shouldn't have a problem getting around..Thanks so much for the info!:wizard:

I just flew back to MHT on Monday  Sorry I hate coming back from Disney :rotfl: It's a great small ariport like many people have said. There is almost no way to get lost inside. To get to the longterm lots you have to turen left before the parking garage for lots C and D. I know there is E, F, and G but I've never parked in those. It is 10/day to park. It is 8/day to park at the Highlander Inn which is literally on the road the aiport is on. You can see the parking garage from the hotel. My parents swear by the highlander. They park there every trip. You make reservations to park there (don't have to stay the night). When you arrve they show you where to park and take you to the airport and the shuttle is right there when you land. Airport parking is just as easy, just $2 more per day.

We always park at the Highlander, the shuttle drops you off curb side and picks you up upon your return. When we have an early flight we stay there the night before-lots of restaurants nearby and I like to check out the mall. We are flying over Columbus Day weekend and I already made parking reservations in case it is busy. If you stay over the night before parking is $4/day.We love Manchester airport-soo much easier than Logan! Have a great trip.

Hey there,

We always use the Manchester airport. I've never been to Providence so I can't compare. But I can tell you that the Manchester airport layout is very simple to navigate. There is a parking garage, but I wouldn't recommend parking there for 7 days. There are a few long term parking lots with shuttle service to the terminal. If you go to the Manchester airport's website they have a link for parking. I believe they also have a layout of the terminal.

I think you'll have a good experience in Manchester.

Have fun.

Mitch

We've been flying from Manchester for years and love it. We're a couple hours away in northern NH so we always stay at a hotel the night before. Last trip we tried the Highlander and were very happy with it. The parking was reasonable and the shuttle was super fast. We're planning to stay again in August. We take DD to the mall and have dinner at the Outback (which is actually in Bedford, not Manchester) the night before we go. Its kind of a tradition since there are no Outback's anywhere near where we live.
