Flying out of Kansas City?

Before the new TSA stuff, KC used to be one of my favorite airports. You could practically park at the terminal doors! Last time we flew out of KC, there wasn't anywhere to get food/drinks after TSA screening, so we were out of luck.

Does anyone know if they've changed that? I would really like to buy some water for the plane, but wasn't sure that would be possible.

I fly out of KCI all the time and love it. Its so easy and fast to get to the plane. (even with TSA). Southwest Airlines I know for a fact has Wolfgang Pucks Express (meaning a cooler full of sandwiches and things) as well as bottled drinks.

I am not sure about other airlines though as that is who I usually fly.

All gates do now have interior bathrooms.

thank goodness! I flew out of MCI in 8/06 and that bugged me the most, no bathrooms after going through TSA. We are flying on Midwest from Kansas City this trip and it would be nice to buy a bottle of water to carry on but it's not the end of the world if I can't.

I moved from that area less than a year ago, and at that time the TSA screenings were still as they have always been...meaning all food/bathroom services/etc. are outside the screening areas.

With the hub-style layout of the airport, and bathrooms and food on the outside walls, there would have to have been a major remodel this past year to close off entrances, etc, in order to have the TSA outside the actual gate areas.

I'd call the airport office to ask. They were always friendly when I had questions...hopefully they can give you up-to-the minutes information!

We fly out of KC. Our last flight was in Sept on Airtran. Once through security check they did have bathrooms and a place to purchase drinks, fruit, sandwiches, etc...

I know Southwest has upgraded their gates. I'm pretty sure everyone else is working on or has already completed the upgrade to include restrooms inside the gate area and a place to buy drinks. We always fly out of KC (mostly because we live here.)
