Flying on New Year's Eve or Day?

I'm trying to plan our trip for Jan 2012 and am wondering if anyone has every flown on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day? We have a 5 day Disney Cruise booked for January 3 and I prefer to be in Orlando a few days early. I know the parks tend to be quite packed between Christmas and New year's and we plan on going to the parks for at least 4 or 5 days after the cruise so I want to minimize the time during the more aggravating time of year. Any suggestions?

On December 31, 2009 we were flying home from Tampa - Toronto on WestJet and the cost was a lot cheaper compared to flying home on New Years Day. However I am not sure what the costs is for those days on other airlines.

We are looking to fly around that time as well. From what I have been reading (and what is currently available through Air Canada) it is MUCH cheaper to fly on New Years Eve than on New Year's Day. Now I only hope that I can get the room I want at the resort I want on New Year's eve!

The last couple of years we toyed with the idea of going to WDW for the holidays. So I have looked at flights from BUF and as the others have said it is cheaper to fly NYE....particularly if it's the later flights. Also, NYE has been the lowest fare day for about 6 surrounding days at that time.
