Flying model planes for Christmas

My boys (11 and 8) want those planes you can fly...i don't want the expensive planes that are real expensive but want something decent and easy to fly....any recommendations?? do they use batteries? chargers? can anyone with experience help? some in the Discover catalog run between $80 and up......
