anything I should know? I've never flown with them before. We have an 11:15 departure. Any tips?

You will love your flight. We use them alot. They are great. The changeover at JFK is painless, as soon as you get off the first plane you are already in the terminal to catch the next leg of your journey. We are flying with them tomorrow to NYC for Thanksgiving our DD 11 years saw the news with the wheeled turned 90 degrees and watched the amazing landing. She was not even concerned as she really likes to fly Jetblue.

Have a great flight

Jet blue is great! I fly with them all the time. You will enjoy having your own personal TV at your seat, with a pretty good selection of stations to watch. As the other poster said, JFK is very easy to navigate, the terminal is pretty small. Enjoy your trip!

If you're planning on eating before your flight, do it before you get to the airport. Syracuse-Hancock has a grand total of 2 eateries in the airport. A Sbarro Pizza, and an Au Bon Pain. (There may be 1 other on the other side of the airport, but Sbarro and ABP are the only ones on the side that Jet Blue is on ... getting to the other side, if I remember correctly, requires exiting the secure area, and then going through security on the other side)

Thanks! I don't have to worry about JFK for the trip down, as we don't have to change planes. I don't know about the trip back, I'll have to check the itinerary. Realistically, how early should we be at the airport for an 11:15 departure? Is 9:45 early enough for check in, security, etc?By the way, I hate to fly.

Most times of the year, 9:45 will be fine for an 11:15 departure at Syracuse. It's really not a very busy airport. If you're travelling during a peak travel time (thanksgiving, christmas, easter), then you'd probably want to allow at least 2 hours.

Thanks for the reminder! We flew TMA last time (and were supposed to again, until they went bankrupt!) and ate at Sbarro for breakfast. I made a note in my passporter about the horrible food. We are staying at the BW Airport Inn the night before we go, and they have a continental breakfast that we will make good use of!

One should be able to find something to eat along either Route 11 or South Bay Road before going to the airport.

We never get to SYR earlier than an hour before our flight. We fly Delta and never have a wait to check in, and security is never more than a 5 minute wait.

McDonalds is right across the road from the main road into the airport. There is also a Dunkin Donuts.

I have experienced some waits thru security but nothing like MCO....
Have a good flight.

Lori

Oh Oh, now I'm worried about security at MCO! Our flight leaves MCO at 7:50 pm. We were planning on dropping off the rental at 6:00pm, will that give us enough time for check in and security?
