Hello

We are trying to plan a pretty last minute trip to use our annual passes in early January. We have been to Orlando many times but have never flown charter - have no idea what this would be like! Not even sure if a package type holiday would really work out any cheaper than booking ourselves as we have always done?

What is Sanford airport like? - I love Orlando International and would miss not seeing that!!
Do Mears Shuttles run from Sanford as they do from Orlando International? We want to stay onsite if possible (AP discounts!!) and not hire a car.
Which car hire firms - if any - are on-airport if we do not stay onsite at Disney?
Thanks for any advice,
Claire:wave:

Hello,

Sanford airport is a nice small airport with everything you need close together. I think that Dollar, Alamo and Hertz have on airport depots. The only thing about the standard charters I have been on to there is that the legroom is poor. Travel city direct fly there in Jumbos of course and they have Scheduled flight legroom.
There are various shuttle companies running from Sanford but I am not sure if mears is one of them.

..a vote for Sanford... it's like a regional Brit airport... one building, easy access... the general view is that the extra distance away from the world is more than compensated for by the ease of processing when you land, as compared to Orlando International.

(I'd go via boat rather than not be there!!)

Sandford wins every time.

They are now used to British charters and are very helpful as they know that their jobs depend on the UK market.

Customs and immigration are very slick, very little waiting for bags etc, assuming all goes to plan.

Orlando though deals with hundreds of flights and priority seems to be given to the US airlines with loads of daily flights.

I'll wave at your plane - you'll be flying nearly right over our house before you land!!! :)

Thanks all it sounds like a charter to sanford may be a possibility - especially after the responses to my question about Northwest!!
Thanks for the info,
