We are flying into Sanford for the first time, arriving at about 6 pm. We will have children wanting their dinner, so we would like to stop somewhere on the way to WDW to feed them. I looked at google maps and got a bit overwhelmed. Anyone have a suggestion of somewhere nearby (willing to go in the wrong direction if it is close to the airport) for a family with young kids?

What do you like and what do they like? These is a Sonny's BBQ on 17-92 just south of Airport Blvd in Sanford. These is also a Cici's Pizza, a Denny's and a McDonalds in the same area. If you want something like an Applebee's or a Chili's head down 417 and get off at Red Bug Lake Rd and Chili's is within a 1/4 mile of the ramp.

Just be prepared for ANY exit you get off on 417 will toll you to get off . Most even to get back on . Its exact change or SunPass only .......there are no "full service" toll booths at the exits . There is usually 1 "full service" booth at all of the 417 thoroughfare toll booths though .

From Sanford Airport ..........take 417 south all the way to Disneyworld .........exit 6 runs straight onto Epcot Center Drive . Couldnt be any easier (except for some tolls) .............sure beats jumping onto route 4 and dealing with that perpetual traffic.
We take 417 exclusively now , from MCO or SFB . So much so that we even got a Sunpass for our trips . Makes it SO easy to drive 417 (or 528) with a Sunpass . We have the portable unit that just goes from car to car . Saves some $$$ on the tolls too!

If you head into Sanford on Lake Mary Blvd, you will pass a mile or 2 of residential area and then you will be in the business district. There is just about anything you could imagine as far as fast food or casual dining in this area.

Depending on time of day/day of week, Lake Mary Blvd is an excellent choice to travel and eat. Then you can continue on to I4 and head to WDW toll free or go back to 417. I wouldn't do this (I4) Mon-Fri from 6-9am or 3-7pm.

That's where we usually go to eat and buy toiletries and snacks at Walmart (to save on Allegiant luggage charges). Afterwards, we hit 417.

Thank you so much everyone, this is great. I think the Lake Mary Blvd route will work perfectly for us.
