I can't believe we are flying the busiest travel day of the year!! But that was the only time that worked for all of us (3 families are going).

Airfare is currently $267 rt from ORD to MCO (it's that 11/26 flight that is killing the price). Should I wait or grab it? Help me veteran Thanksgiving flyers.... :worship:

(And please do not suggest SW as is not an option for us. Midway is way to far for an early morning flight with toddlers :goodvibes )

TIA!

That is high for ORD But on that day you will find few if any price breaks. What about Sat night or Mon AM? probably your only options if you want to shop for price. Having flown that day, I would avoid it like the plaque if you have little ones with you. Everywhere is a mad house, Packed planes, security lines, luggage delays, late planes, overbooking you name it plus weather delays esp anywhere in the midwest. Have Fun

We flew out of Philly the Sunday after this past Thanksgiving, I expected a madhouse but was pleasantly surprised, not alot of waiting or hassels. We had a longer line leaving MCO on the following 12/5 Monday.

We got lucky with a charter out of Philly, although they cancelled our return flight I got lucky again with Air Tran for the return home.

WDW was busier than I expected that week. Have been doing WDW that week for the past 15 years 4-5x and it was much busier than I remembered from 3 years earlier.

I waited until Spring to book our flights, but just a few weeks before the cancelled flight.

I also flew out of PHL on that day this past year and we had no trouble at all. We took the earliest flight out which left at 6:35am, and we had no wait for security at all. We paid $140 rt through a Southwest DING.

I drove home on that day back in 02. Flying has got to be better!! Even though the airports will be crowded, only so many flights come and go, and there is a limit to the number of people at the airport.

Now driving is another story. We spent the entire time on I-75 North only going 30 MPH all the way through Georgia, so definitely fly!!!

267 doesn't seem to bad to me as that is pretty much our standard fare from HSV on normal days.

If I go later in the month, I can get $201 but we REALLY don't want to be there during Pop Warner week. Since 3 families are going, these were the dates that best worked for everyone.

I just hate to take the $267 if ther eis a chance I can get the $201, which is why I am looking for advice from anyone who has traveled down there at that time in the past.

We usually fly out of Bradley Field in Hartford on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We have never had a problem. We take the 7:00 A.M. flight and usually everything moves smoothly. We find that most people are heading home while we're heading to Orlando. You should be okay. :)
