We are scheduled to fly in the night before the cruise. I have made arrangements to stay at a hotel near the airport. What will we need to do to meet the DCL shuttle? Will we need to go back to the luggage area at the airport? This is only my second posting...and our first cruise. Thanks for your help!!

When we took the Magic in 2002 we flew in the night before. We stayed at the airport at the hotel right there (It's been too long. Don't remember whether if it was a Hilton or Hyatt. Think it was a Hilton.). Anyway, we ate dinner in the airport that night. The next morning we ate an early breakfast, again in the airport, and went back to our room to get our luggage. We then met the DCL folks on the mezzanine level of the hotel. There, they took our luggage, checked all our paperwork. They made sure we had all our forms filled out, and showed us videos in a large conference room until it was time to board our bus. We were the second bus out.

We were not the only ones to do this. The area was comfortably busy as everyone was getting ready for their cruise. It was extremely convenient and I would highly recommend staying there.

If you are staying at a hotel with a shuttle, you will need to take it back to the airport and go to the ground transportation area. There are DCL reps. stationed at various points around the airport who will be able to guide you. Just make sure to put the DCL tags on your luggage, and they will load it into the bus and then deliver it to your stateroom.
Good choice flying in the night before...we always do that so we'll have a stress-free start to our trip.

Hi Kelly ,

it is very nice to stay at the airport hyatt when u r getting in late
no shuttle off the plane and Grab luggage and into the hotel witch is located in side airport....

Also when u check in the night before ... u may leave luggage out side of your room door and they will come get it sometime during the night.. and the next time u see it will be in your stateroom... so if it is not to late I would also consider changing... hotels... peter

Another vote here for the Hyatt inside the airport. It is more expensive but it is worth it due to the convenience factor alone. It's a beautiful hotel too!

BTW...Welcome aboard!!!

I appreciate all of your advice! I got great rates at the Clarion Hotel located near the airport from Hotwire.com. What time will the first shuttles begin transporting from the airport? Do we just bring our luggage with tags back to a DCL rep? I love this forum! I have so many great ideas and plans, now thanks to it!!
