Flying in the Day Before w/Disney

I just booked my very first cruise on Disney (Western 3/11/06)! I also purchased the airfare (w/ground transportation) through Disney, since I wanted everything to be as hassle-free as possible. Since we are flying in from AZ, we have to fly in the day before. When I booked, it said that the hotel for the night of the 10th was included in the price. Does Disney pick the hotel or do we get to pick the hotel? We are in a Cat 8 stateroom. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how does it work?

I believe DCL puts you up in the Orlando Airport Hyatt...which is a very nice hotel!!! Not sure if they use other hotels...but I am pretty sure I have only read about them using the Hyatt.

If in fact it is the Hyatt you will check in at the front desk and tell them you are on the cruise....you will put your luggage outside your room early AM the morning of the cruise and DCL will transport it to the ship for you. You and carryons I believe, will meet in the lobby and be escorted to your DCL bus by a DCL rep.

I am sure others who have done it recently will report if things are done differently (this was our experience a few years ago).

We fly in from either LAX or ONT the day before and have purchased airfare through DCL a few times. The hotel will almost certainly be the Hyatt at the Orlando airport. This is very convenient, as it's right in the airport terminal. No need to grab a shuttle. On the morning of the cruise, you meet the DCL cast members in the lobby and they get you to the busses.

I've never heard of DCL putting anyone up in a different hotel, although I suppose it could happen. Either way, they pick the hotel.

We now book our own air and purchase the transfers from the cruise line, but still stay at the Hyatt, since it is so convenient.
