Flying in for R&R

My son is flying in from Afghanistan for R&R. He is going to fly into Florida and meet us there. The following week we'll be in NH. Would he have to go back to Florida to fly back or would he be able to catch a military flight closer to home.

Has anyone had any experience with that? If not, how could we find out?

He should be able to let the travel office now he wants the return from a different location. Typically he would only fly military to BWI, ATL or Tx and catch a commercial flight from one of those locations
