Flying from Toronto and using Magical Express

We usually fly from Buffalo so have never had to worry about getting our bags at the airport in Orlando…this time we are flying from Toronto…does anyone know from experience if we have to grab our bags ourselves and bring them on the bus with us?? I was told we had to clear customs first so we had to get our bags but then I was told no that isn't true so very confused….was hoping someone with experience could tell me what to expect! thanks

NOPE! You clear customs in Pearson so as soon as you go through security you are in a bizarre fashion, technically on US soil. Unless your flight lands after 10 p.m. there's no need to get your own bags,. Have a blast! We really enjoyed the process at Pearson last fall both going and coming home. Really slick, scan your passport and it takes you picture .. here's the link to a little video to watch so you know what to expect.

Assuming you're flying out of Pearson then you'll pre-clear customs in Toronto. When the plane lands it's exactly like a domestic, just head for the Magical Express. If you're flying out of the island airport then there is no pre-clearance and you'll need to get your bags and clear customs in Orlando.

Thanks. Yes we are flying out of Pearson. So that's good to know. Makes it easier for me to not have to grab bags!!

Just to follow up. The pp were all correct, but the return you do have to take the bags to the airport. You cannot check them at the hotel like on a Buffalo flight. There is no Canadian customs in Orlando. So great going, not too bad coming home.

The key is to make sure you put the yellow baggage tags on your bags before you drop them at the carousel (After customs but before security screening).

You'll get the tags in the mail about 8-10 weeks before your trip.

Bring all essential meds and toiletries, as well as a change of clothes for the parks or warm weather in your carry-ons.

We've typically waited anywhere from 2-5 hours for bags to arrive after resort arrival.

We love the Magical Express and have always had successful bag delivery to our rooms.
