Hi, We're in Kzoo and although we have the airport right here, have you gotten better deals flying out of GR or South Bend, IN? I thought I read there wasn't much savings going out of Detroit either. TIA!

Go to travelocity.com, search for "flight only" and make sure you check the box for "check surrounding airports". Once you find a flight & price you're happy with, go to the airlines website and book.

I'm 15 minutes from Detroit Metro....and nothing is cheap. I have been looking for weeks and finally decided to just pay it. I have also looked at Toledo but nothing worked there either. I did gets tickets for $190 each....but after taxes and fees, bags and seat selection...for 4 it was $1300!!! I usually drive to Disney....but this was a last minute trip and who knows what kind of snow we will have. Good Luck!!!!

We have good luck with flying Airtain out of Flint, but I don't think they have their prices out that far yet.

I personally Have never had good luck pricing out of KZO, GR yes Friend has flown out and it was only bit more or same price as flying out of DTW. AS for south bend I know brother once flew from there not sure where he was going but Tampa sticks in my mind. I would just price flights from each and decide from there. Don't forget to factor in parking, otel etc.

I'm in Kalamazoo, too, and we search all the airports we can find to get a deal. It seems the best deals are usually through DTW but not always. We just booked Direct Air from Kalamazoo to SFB and are SO excited about flying from home. Not to mention that we got the best fares we could find at the time. They are just limited on days/times they fly. When we go, they are only flying Mondays and Fridays, but that works for us. If you're not tied into flying into MCO, there are more options. We were searching GR, Lansing, South Bend (nice airport...a lot like GR), Detroit, and even Toledo. Lansing seems to have good deals with Sun Country but the dates open up really late. Just keep searching and you'll come up with something you can live with.

Forgot to mention: Direct Air often has deals if you keep checking back with them. The one we got was $169 round trip including ALL fees and seat selection (except for check bag fees). They will also do buy one, get one free or half off fares. I see you're going in August as well. They're only flying Mondays and Fridays and the flights leave KZO at noon which is great for us!

I live by GR and we are actually flying out of DTW this week as they were cheaper for us. We ended up booking ours in May with Delta for our Jan flight for $202.40 (after fees and taxes) per person.

When I was looking I looked at GRR, K-ZOO, Flint, DTW and even Chicago. I know when my friend booked hers it was at that point cheaper to fly out of GRR so you're just going to have to keep checking all of them until you find a price you like.

Good luck!
