Flying Fish

One of my top 5 signatures. Good seafood, an excellent NY Strip steak. Fair beer selection, good wine selection. Somewhat noisy especially near the bar and open kitchen (we always eat at the bar).
We try to do FF each trip.

Flying Fish is also one of our top restuarants on property. The food is fantastic and fresh, make sure to save room for the Caramelized Banana Napoleon (it is, in my opinion, the best dessert on property). It can get loud in there by signature standards (it won't be as quiet as say Jiko, but won't be as loud as CG). The staff has always been friendly and helpful. We decided on our trip in October to try out the Chef's Wine Tasting Dinner this time. You won't be disappointed with FF. :thumbsup2

Flying Fish is my favorite of the restaurants on Disney's Dining Plan. They have the best cheese course (except V&A), nice wine selection and I've enjoyed every entree I've tried. My favorite is the yellowfin.

It is a bit noisy and the tables are closer than I enjoy but we still try to get here every trip.

We have dined at Flying Fish several times because it is hands down our favorite restaurant on property. The shrimp cocktail is incredible (drizzled with a lime type dressing and ice cold). Sometimes they have swordfish, which is a special. Swordfish is easy to screw up as it is a difficult fish to cook properly. Best swordfish I have ever had.

Atmosphere is great and so is the service. I have seen kids there with families, but it's not the first place I would pick to go to with kids.

So I assuming it is OK to bring 3 and 9 year old there to dine.

Coming from someone who doesn't have kids, the earlier the ADR the better for kids. If we get a 5:30 ADR at a signature, we expect a different crowd than if we had an 8:30 ADR at a signature.

Plus, if a child starts to get loud at FF, you can always take them out to get some air on the Boardwalk.

We have been bringing our kids to "signature" resturants since they were very young. It is a long meal like another poster said but my kids were always okay with a longer dinner. There are always children in FF when we dine there and have not experienced any issues.

FF has pretty much become a must do for us on each trip. We enjoy all aspects of it very much. Food, decore, atomosphere, staff and location!

Enjoy! :goodvibes

Our 2 year old did great in all the restaurants there. Don't let the 'signature means silent' crowd affect you. There are kids in every one of those restaurants. It's freakin' Disney World.

No one expects silent. I do not see anyone stating they expect absolute silence except at V&A where little children are not permitted anyway.

However, if you have children who aren't likely to sit still and want to run around the restaurant, sit on the floor, throw things or bang the silverware, or you have kids who will scream uncontrollably for a long amount of time, an early time is best when there will be more numerous families present. Flying Fish is not a quiet restaurant, so normal talk or laughter by children OR adults is not an issue, but it's not a character buffet either.

We would never subject other diners to this type of behavior from our children . If our children were to behave this way we would get up and leave.

I also have another question how does it work for those that are just on the regular dinning plan. I know it is 2 credits but are the exclusions on what we can order and what is included.

No exclusions. If you are on the regular dining plan each adult is entitled to an entree, a dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage for 2 credits. The kids will order from the kids menu, so they will get three "courses."

First time at Flying Fish in Dec. 2010. Loved it! Delicious food, great service, boardwalk entertainers right outside the restaurant. I plan to eat there twice next trip (OK maybe 3 times)...... check out my dining review (link in my signature below)!

Tied with Cali Grill for best restaurant in WDW (haven't done V&A). Planned two visits for our next trip as well. We tried it for the first time on our last trip, and liked it so much, we cancelled somewhere else to come back later in the week. We weren't disappointed that second time, either. Great place.

if it was socially acceptable to lick your plate and not make a fool of yourself, THIS would be the restaurant you would do it in !!!

The food is WONDERFUL !!! The potato wrapped snapper is just about the best tasting meal we had on our trip. My Dh, who isn't much of a food photographer, actually took a picture of his meal "so he could remember it always". :lmao:

The atmosphere is beautiful, the service was fabulous and the food....amazing. You will NOT be disappointed !!! :thumbsup2
