I would really like to try Flying Fish on our first night in WDW mid-January,but I have read some not too nice things while researching. Does anyone love it and why? My sister-in -law has never been to WDW so I want to start it off right. We are staying at the BWI so it would be very convenient and it is somewhere I have always wanted to try. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I love Flying Fish. We just ate there for the first time this fall. It was myself, DH, and my mom. The food was great. I had the potato wrapped snapper, which was excellent. My mom had the salmon and DH had duck, I think. Service was great. Our server was really nice and friendly. I liked the atmsophere, and I didn't think I would. For some reason, whenever we passed by and looked in, I just didn't think I would like the atmosphere but I was wrong. It was fun. All of us loved it, and we'll definitely eat there again.

It is my number 5 restaurant over all behind:

1. Victoria & Alberts
2. Citricos
3. Artist Point
4. Jiko

I think you will have a very nice time. It is a nice place to eat and the banana napolean is to DIE for!

It is also near the top of our list. I'm not sure what you've been reading but the majority of what i've seen has been positive. But 7 adults here vote yes, and if i wanted to play the odds that we started off with an impressive good meal this would be one of my choices.

Best restuarant I've been to a WDW. I liked it a lot better than Jiko, but I suspect I'm in the minority (I also suspect my Jiko experience was atypical - bad waiter and I ordered something I wasn't thrilled with - I can't say it wasn't well done, it just wasn't to my taste).

Great food (I also had the potato encrused snapper - and I dream about it! The raspberry napolean for dessert was also wonderful, stiff drinks). Wonderful service. I loved the decor. We are DVC owners at the BW, so the location for us is also perfect - you can finish dinner and still make it to Fantasmic (with an early dinner) or Illuminations, or just hang out on the Boardwalk.

I'm not the OP, but I am thrilled to hear the good reviews - my sister and I have a quick trip next week (she's on business and I am tagging along!). We couldn't make last minute ADR's for the right times for our two first choices (CG and ?? brain freeze I forget) so instead we are trying 2 that are new to us - Flying Fish and Wolfgang Puck's Upstairs. Looking forward to the new experiences!

Does everyone in your party like fish? If so this will be a great restuarant for you. If not, my opinion of the non-fish dishes isn't very good. My friend and I do not eat seafood, but our husband's do. She ate there once late at night and loved the steak. She wanted to go back so asked us to go on our last trip. The husband's loved their meals. She and I both ordered the steak. Both steaks were about half fat. She really likes fat on meat, I was totally grossed out when I bit into a bite of steak and my mouth was full of greasy fat instead of meat. I certainly didn't think that my meal was worth $38.00 for the fatty steak and a few roasted potatoes.

Thanks guys! You helped me make up my mind. Flying Fish it will be!
Only 15 more days...I am soooo ready!
