I really want to try the Flying Fish, but I'd love to not have to get a sitter for the kids. They are boys, 7 and (will be) 5. We'll be there in mid-January so it shouldn't be crazy crowded (I was able to get my ADR just a few days ago.)

I realize it's a signature restaurant, white tablecloths, etc. Am I crazy to attempt bringing kids? Anyone been and seen kids dining there? :confused3

We are bringing our kids in February. I actually chose it because it has a much better then average childrens menu. From what I hear it's a good place to bring kids.

Even in January, I've seen a few children dining here. The restaurant has an open kitchen so there's some noise already built in. As long as your children are fine sitting through a long meal (the pace here is slow), they will be fine.

Have seen plenty of kids there. Your only consideration might be if your small children are too restless to sit for a longer meal (signature restaurants are generally not fast-paced.) There's the whole Boardwalk to explore just outside if they can't stay still, but that means a parent doesn't get to sit either.

We took our almost 2 yo last year. We had a cake for DH's birthday. Everything was fine.

We were first ressie (5:30?).

I brought my 2 and 5 year old girls in May and they both enjoyed it there. They have a really fun dessert for the kids: a Mickey Mouse puzzle made with white chocolate that you paint! It also comes with a cupcake since the puzzle itself is not much to eat but my girls loved it! Definitely bring your kids!

I have been there many times with young children and seen many other young children when I am there, so your kids will not be out of place.

Just be prepared for a longish meal (bring stuff to keep them occupied while they are waiting) and be prepared to remove them from the restaurant if they start to act up and disturb other diners.

Thanks everyone. Feeling better about it! My kids will love the paint-a-puzzle dessert. I am planning this dinner for an "off" day, so everyone should be fairly rested and ready to behave. I can always bribe them with games on the boardwalk for good behavior!
