We are staying at BWV the end of October and I'd like to plan a nice dinner for DH and I. I was leaning towards Flying Fish since we are staying at the Boardwalk - but now, I'm leaning towards Artist Point. If you have dined at both places in the past year, tell me which one is your favorite. We'll have a car, so transportation isn't a problem. Thanks for your help!

I went to AP on my B-day, and it was absolutley amazing! The buffalo is great, but I could live off of the mushroom soup!

That being said, I'm going to Flying Fish for the first time tonight, so I'll be able to give you my review tomorrow :) I'm not a fish person, but the NY Strip on the menu looks good :thumbsup2

Artist Point is very good, but I think Flying Fish is much better, particularly if you are in the mood for seafood.

We love both and actually are doing them both on our upcoming trip. Flying Fish is more a fish-lovers paradise. AP has more for carnivores.

Something else to consider is Flying Fish has those cathedral ceilings and hardwood floors making it alot louder than Artist Point. It doesn't phase us but some people find it distracting.

On our last trip in June, we went to AP and FF both. We loved FF so much, we cancelled YSH to go back a second time.

We like the atmosphere at FF better even though we had a wonderful window side table at AP. The servers at FF are so friendly and take good care of you without being pushy or overly attentive. The decor is so nice .. the colors soothing .. the tile work and murals just beautiful.

And the food .. on my gosh! We had the most wonderful lobster appy both times. It was the most tender lobster I have ever eaten. One night, I go the steak. If someone is not a fish eater, trust me .. that will be happy with with this steak! It was ever bit as good as the filet I got at AP. They cook it over the wood fire .. yum! The dessert we had is now on the very top of our "favorite WDW dessert" list. It's a chocolate sampler with 3 little desserts.

I don't think you could go wrong with either choice. We will go back to AP, but FF is now a must do!

I was just looking at the above post. Maybe I'm nuts (or just old!), but I don't remember there being hardwood floors at FF. The ceilings are high, but they are at AP, too.

Hard Hard decision. Flying Fish, Artist Point and Jiko are our top three, we just keep rotating through them. You won't be disappointed with either FF or AP.

FF and AP are our two favorite restaurants in WDW, in that order. We love the food at both. We've found the service at both to be excellent, with an edge to FF. The servers we've had at FF are a wee bit more polished/professional (not snooty professional, but warm, prompt, polite and knowledgeable about the menu professional). FF servers seem to be more wine savvy, if that is important to you.

If I had to eat ten meals at either place, I'd go to FF 7 times and AP three.

If I were you, staying at BWV, I wouldn't make the trek to AP, since FF is right there.

Thanks everyone! Flying Fish it is!

ConcKahuna - Yes, please post a review!!!

We would rate AP, FF and the Yachtsman as being our favorite places at WDW. You can't go wrong with any of them. We like AP for its very different menu - something you are not likely to find in your home town.

Why not take a look at the menu's of each place (try www.allearsnet.com) and consider not only what you would order, but what you might not be able to get elsewhere.

I love both and have eaten at them in the past year. It's a hard decision, but I would pick FF. The snapper is excellent, the service is great (although it is at AP too), and the atmosphere is a lot of fun.

So I'm back after my first time at Flying Fish! I must say, the NY strip was GREAT as was the lobster & sweet corn bisque and and cherry cheesecake for desert. While the steak was amazing, I really dislike fish, and I wish there had been maybe some shellfish items on the menu. The only entrees if you dont like fish are the steak, and ravioli with eggplant, spinach, and goat cheese in them (my roommate got those, you get a total of 4 ravioli LOL). Also, the first thing I noticed when I walked in is that the restaurant is much, MUCH louder than AP. I was also suprised by the lack of dress code enforcement. I dont think people should have to go all out at the signature restaurants, but when I'm sitting next to someone in cut-offs and a t-shirt that looked like it had been used to target range practice.

Also, our server was not very good but I never blame the restaurant for that, and most of the servers we saw were doing a great job.

After having been to both of them now, I will probably stick with AP. The menu has more of a variety, and I found the atmosphere much quieter. If you like fish, I would still highly recommend FF, since they have several different fish items.

It's all about personal preference. These two restaurants are very different, and trying to compare them is like comparing apples and bananas.
