Ok I took everyone's advice and just made an ADR to our first Sign. Rest. I looked and looked through them all and thought I'd go w/ Flying Fish. The menu looked like something my DH would love. So let me know what you think about it. Did I make the right choice? This is going to be a surprise for my DH. He loves seafood and I don't. I thought this had something for everyone including our DD.

What does everyone think about it? Any pics? TIA

Been there once, thought it was great. We're from new england and can be seafood snobs, and we were still impressed. I had the potato wrapped red snapper which was excellent. Good wine list too. We'll be going again in october. Can't comment on the non fish dishes, though.

LOVED it!! Went there with a party of 5....4 of us each had a different seafood dish and the 5th had a pork dish that I don't see on the menu anymore. ALL were fabulous as was the WINE!! We had a great time here and you can't beat the location. Next time I want to go and sit at the counter when there are only 2 of us...that looked like fun.

It is a very fine restaurant and we have gone there many times over the past 10 years. However, we went during our trip in March 2008 and some of the dishes were a bit overdone (not overcooked, but overdone in the sense that the chef took a perfectly good dish and added one or two ingredients to it that made it just too much). It was still a fine meal with top quality ingredients, but it was a bit much.

I've been here three times. None were super recent (last was '04, I think), but the food has always been very good.

Our first trip was also our first Signature dining - though I'm not sure it was called that back then. I think it was 2001. It was back in the days when you could walk up and get a table at most places. We walked up about 6pm, and couldn't get a table until 9:45! We were flabbergasted that we'd have to wait so late, but decided to go for it anyhow!

We had a blast hanging out on the Boardwalk while we waited for our table. They used to have some great entertainers on the Boardwalk at night. They really contributed to the mood! (I think they've since been victims of budget cuts, which is WAY too bad. They were great!)

Our first meal at FF was really awsome!

The next time we dined there it was still good, but they had changed chefs and did away with their signature dessert. Too bad because it was a great chocolate lava cake. You had to wait extra to get it! Imagine that in today's WDW!

So to us, FF, probably will never be as good as that first trip. I'd still rank it above Cali Grill though.

The Flying Fish Cafe is a "must do" on all of our trips. Four out of the five of us enjoy seafood and we've never been let down by our choices. The carnivore of the family considers their New York Strip Steak the best she has had in WDW and she's most excited when our ADR's include the Flying Fish Cafe.

IMO it's the best Sig restaurant. They have plenty more than seafood, but I say go in with an open mind. You might find something you enjoy.

I love Flying Fish, granted, I like seafood too. I've read they have really good steak though, so maybe you could get that. I recommend the potato-wrapped snapper for a fish entree though. The appetizers, desserts, and service are all really good there too.

We love the FF and visit it every trip to WDW! The potato-wrapped snapper is so yummy that we often just get that and dont get to try something new. The other dishes we have tried there were excellent as well.

The location is great, worlds away from the crowds at the parks. And the decor is fantastic -- there are flying fish all over the place -- lamps, door handles, etc. Our DD had alot of fun trying to find them all.

Of all the expensive places we have tried at WDW, FF is our favorite!

I'm feeling so much better about making this ADR. Thank you for the wonderful reviews.

We ate at Flying Fish on our last trip and loved the food. We ate at Jiko too and while we liked the overall experience at Jiko better, we thought the food at Flying Fish was superior. It is a little noisy (we had a booth with our backs to the waiting area by the host/hostess podium, which no doubt contributed to that) and it is pricey, but the food was the best I've had at any WDW restaurant.

I was at Disney last week and ate at Flying Fish twice. It was wonderful both nights. I had the crab cake appetizer and red snapper the first night. The crab cake is pretty big for an appetizer. The snapper was cooked to perfection and the sauce is amazing.

The second time I had the lobster bisque and BLT appetizer and oakfired salmon. Again, both were excellent.

And desserts both times were incredible! My favorite dessert all week was their Study in Strawberries...three mini desserts all featuring strawberries. I also had the tropical fruits and coconut panna cotta. Excellent!

And they have blue-cheese stuffed green olives for their martinis....sigh. It was heaven I tell you!

As if the food wasn't reason enough! Are they colossal? The olives, not the martinis (OK, are the martini's colossal too?!)

Since our trip will coincide with my better half's b'day I'm hoping to try FF for his b'day dinner. It sounds amazing.

Does anyone have a current menu for the FF? Or is the one on here current?
