I think I read on here that Flying Fish has bar seating. If so, do you have to have an ADR or can you walk up and request to sit there? I would be solo.

No more bar seating I think. AI think they eliminated those after the refurb. But I could be wrong.

There is Bar seating but not Chef's Counter seating.

It wasn't terribly busy when were there but I would imagine it's first come first served and perfect for a solo diner.

Yeah, that's it. We ate there in 2016 but could not remember if there was bar seating. Good food, so-so value as compared to other signature restaurants.

When I was there in the past solo, the chef counter was a great place to sit and enjoy. Too bad they removed it with the remodel. Depending on the time of day you plan to eat, it can be very busy or not too bad. I have done ADRs for 2 and then been the only one to show up as many will not let you do ADRs for odd numbers. When I arrive, I have asked to be seated at the bar instead of a table (if the bar is open) and its not been a problem. If the bar area is busy, I keep the table.

The current seating that over looks the open kitchen has seating for two as opposed to 4 so could make an alternative spot for one.

Yes, there is a bar and you can walk-up. Of course the # of seats are limited. It's one of my favorite spots and I've found the bartenders to be outstanding both in terms of wine recommendations as well as menu knowledge. Have fun!
