I am trying to make a dinner decision for one night we are going to be at the Boardwalk. I personally am leaning towards Flying Fish, however my boyfriend isn't into seafood at all so we were thinking maybe the steakhouse. Which is a more romantic atmosphere? I want this to be our "nice dinner" night. Our is California Grill worth the trip it would take us to get there (we are staying at CSR and I read that it could take over an hour to get there.) Thanks!

I can't speak for the steakhouse, but the Flying Fish was my husband and I's night out when we were there last time and it was wonderful food and we enjoyed walking the baordwalk afterward and it was romantic. Keep in mind that at Disny there are always families around you with small children, but we had a great experience. YUM :love2:

You may also want to consider Schulas Steakhouse at the Dolphin. The prices are a little higher but the atmospere is more private and the steak and seafood are the best ::MickeyMo

We used to love YSH however I haven't heard the greatest things about it recently so we haven't "rushed" back. We did try FF a few years back and weren't very impressed. I ordered the snapper and I just didn't love it so we didn't go back until this past trip when I decided to try the ravioli.

I know what you're thinking, ravioli at a seafood place??? Well, I have to say that ravioli was the best darn ravioli I've ever had!!! I wouldn't hesitate to go back and have it again!! So if he likes a more "adventurous" type of meal (it's actually goat cheese ravioli), then you've got to try FF. They do also have veal and strip steak. It has a really nice atmosphere and is great for a romantic dinner or a nice family dinner.

It was actually myself and my 6 yr old dd this past visit so we sat at the counter by the kitchen and we had a great time. One of the chefs even sent over a "complimentary" mussel appetizer (and I am NOT a mussel person), I really didn't want them but I didn't want to insult him by not trying it and was I glad I did! To my surprise they were awesome!!....like budder!!! :earboy2:

I've never eaten at YS, but we were disappointed in the food at FF the one time we tried it. I'm assuming that can happen anywhere and, as a matter of fact, we're going to give it another go in December. I must say, however, that the decor is award-winning. My interior designer sister is the one who took us there just because she wanted us to see the place. Really nice.

However, all that said, the best meal I've ever had - and I've eaten all over the world with the waistline to prove it!!! - is at California Grill. Simply the best.

Ive never been to Flying Fish(not a seafood person either), but LOVED Yachtsman Steakhouse last year. We are going back there Friday, in fact. :goodvibes

We love the YS!! The food has always been delicious and the service is excellent.....ask for Oscar. I've also heard very good things about FF but have never tried it. I think we will be trying it next July though.

My DW and I went to all three on three separate trips last year.

The best meal I had was the char-crusted NY strip at FF...a seafood place. I love steak and this was the BEST steak I ever had. The atmosphere is cool and the staff was excellent. My wife had a seafood dish that I can't remember but she said it was good.

For the BEST atmosphere though, you can't beat California Grill. Make reservations later in the evening so you can see the Wishes fireworks either from your table or the balcony. And the food is pretty good. They offer some unique choices.

The YS was my least favorite. The meal was nothing special. I would like to give it another shot though, because it should be good.

DH does not care for seafood either. I dragged him to FF and he loved it. We both agreed that the filet mignon was the best we ever had-better than Yachtsman-which we had eaten at 3 days prior. It was oak grilled, herb crusted and so juicy inside. Our kids were pretty young and they enjoyed the food and the waiter was great with them. He helped them find all the "mistakes" in the decor that they were looking for.

We both agree that Flying Fish is a definate "do again" but are only so-so about Yachtsman.

My husband an I celebrated our 25th anniv. at CG last nov. 2004. It was hands down the most amazing meal we have ever had. It was so good it was obscene!! We were staying at the BW. It was a little tricky to get there so the concierge suggested we get a cab. It was 10.00 (includes tip)to get there but worth it! I say go CG. You won't regret it. Deb

I would pick California Grill, it is such a great place to dine and the food is terrific. We had there pork tenderloin on our last visit and it was so good. If you make your ADR on a night they are having WISHES at the MK, you can watch it from your table or the observation deck. I would take the MK bus from your resort and just walk over to the Contemporary resort it's only a 10 minute walk.

Hey Ron from Michigan. Thanks for agreeing with me!
Deb from Michigan! Grand Haven that is! We are nearly neighbors.

This past June we ate at both Flying Fish and Yatchsman's Steakhouse.

Both are now on my top 10 list of places that we have to eat at when we travel to WDW.

Flying Fish, as mentioned above has a NY Strip Steak grilled over a wood fire that looked INCREDIBLE.

Having said that...at YS, I had the surf and turf that was YUMMY! Lobster tail was cooked to perfection as was the steak.

Romantic wise though...I would say a LATE seating at YS is the way to go. FF is very very open and doesn't have "nooks and crannies" like YS does.

Either place in my opinion will be a wonderful meal!
