We have an ADR for Flying Fish in July. Everything looks good to me and I know DH will like some things. DD12 and DS16 may be a different story. Aside from being picky, they eat like birds....very little.

Will DD12 be able to order off the kids menu? What about DS16? They did let him do this two years ago, but wasn't sure if things had changed.

Or you can order a meal for them to share if they don't order kids' meals. Either/or.

That's a possibility. I could order them the steak. Meat and potatoes...not too strange.

Does anyone know if the Bolognese is the only pasta they offer?

Yes, that is the only pasta offered. The risotto is fabulous with the scallops, steak is great (sauce on the side).

Flying Fish is wonderful. If your kids aren't up to the meal, why not let them get something quick from the Boardwalk, watch the acts, play games while you enjoy a wonderful dinner. Our kids loved to do that type thing instead of having dinner with us! Gave them their own disney memories!

We ate at the Flying Fish last trip. We are DDP people, this was our first signature rest. We didn't feel that it was much better then some of the regular rest.'s on the DDP. We compared it to Le Cellier, Kona', and O"hana.
The dinner was good but we didn't think it was worth 2 TS meals. We thought the menu' was limited, especially for kids.

On the other hand, you are all right saying that the Boardwalk is a great place to take the kids. There is always something to do.

Keep in mind that the steak at FF is quite different than what you normally see. It's done "Pittsburgh style"--completely charred on the outside so it actually looks burnt.

We always go to FF it is our favorite. Our kids are not picky eaters and they love it too but we always have them serve our kids entrees with our aps and then send the kids out to the boardwalk to have fun, go to goofy's candy company etc. They come back and we have dessert together. Our kids are much younger than yours and they absolutely love the freedom.

Thanks! I didn't even consider just making them hang out on the Boardwalk. That sounds terrible, doesn't it?;)

Its actually a pretty good place to hang at that age - relatively safe. They could go into ESPN or Spoodles (if its still Spoodles) or get a pizza or head over to Beaches and Cream. Watch the Boardwalk acts (they don't start until a little later) - check out Storm Along Bay (which may end up costing you thousands next trip when they insist on staying there) and meet up after dinner.

That's the BEST part about this trip...we are staying at the Beach Club!:banana:
