Any opinions on the best entree at Flying Fish? I was originally going to go for the Potato-Wrapped Snapper, but I haven't heard a lot of good reviews on it.
Thanks!

We were recently at the FFC and we all ordered the potato wrapped snapper. It was absolutely delicious. Also, friends of ours say that the steak they serve at FFC is one if not the best on property.

I know Kevin's dining report had mixed opinions of this restaurant but I would highly recommend it and the potato wrapped snapper! I have read a lot more favorable reports than negative ones,

That is their house specialty and most often gets excellent reviews.

We were there for Christmas dinner in 2008. My DH ordered that. I chose something from the special Christmas Day menu (can't even remember now what it was) and I thought it was only good -- didn't really wow me. I tried my husband's snapper and was really disappointed that I hadn't ordered that but it just didn't sound that good to me. But it was very good.

So if it sounds good to you, I would definitely order it.

I don't think I've tried that, but I have had their swordfish, I've tried the scallops, and one other kind of fish that I can't remember at the moment. All were great. We've been maybe 2-3 times and haven't had a bad experience there yet--each time the food has been wonderful. Good luck.

Trying for the first time this year too, and I think the scallops are going to be my choice. I would go for what u think becasue then you may be wishing you did if you didnt.

DW and I order the Crispy Maine Coast Jonah Crab Cakes. They will serve you a dinner portion on request. They are wonderful.

I had the red snapper in December 2008 and loved it. I plan to try the NY Strip steak this next visit.

We loved our apps :goodvibes (crabcake and tuna tartare w/ asian accents) @ FF, and we both ordered the scallops, which were good, but the risotto they came with was definitely NOT.:confused3

You get 4 scallops and lots of risotto...

Desserts were outstanding- DH says their Key Lime Pie was the best he's ever had (but you can get this at the BW BAkery) and I enjoyed a chocolate dessert sampler. :cloud9:

Hope you have a magical trip! :wizard:

I love the scallops and risotto. The snapper is very good also.

Whenever we go to FF, my husband always has the intention of ordering the potato wrapped snapper, but our server ALWAYS talks him out of it. I can't remember what he ordered, but he goes with what the server suggests.

Last time, I had a vegetarian pasta that was REMARKABLY delicious. It was lemon-y and full of flavor.

We dined there last month. I had the red snapper, and it was out of this world!!! I loved it. DH had the NY strip and that was sooooo good as well! I had the cheese plate as my appetizer. I also enjoyed my merlot wine flight. We are going back to FF in August. I will be ordering the red snapper again, just because it was awesome!

My turn, my turn! I love FF....
Smokey Citrus and Fragrant Pepper-spiced Yellowfin Tuna Loin - saffron potatoes, piquillo peppers, roasted fennel, tiny tomatoes, chorizo and saffron-vegetable nage. Oh, it haunts my dreams! :goodvibes

Mmmmm.....I LOVE the potato wrapped snapper!!!! A nice, romantic dinner with my hubby and wonderful food! We had the cheese plate for desert-I still dream about that meal!

hmmm...desert or dessert??? I'm having a preggo moment!!!

My wife thought it was very good. I LOVE the char-crusted NY strip steak it is phenominal!!!

Last fall I got a chef's thunder special and my DH got the snapper. Mine was good, but his was AMAZING!

Going again in 3 weeks and 1 day (:confused3but who's counting) and we will be getting the snapper and the steak and splitting, our own surf and turf!

I have to say, I have rarely seen anyone post that did not enjoy the red snapper

Thanks to you all for your opinions. My mouth is watering! Think I'll definitely have to go with the snapper.

Loved the snapper, loved the steak, and tasted an incredible butternut squash and goat cheese ravioli. They were all amazing. I don't think you could wrong with any of their entrees.
