I am flying with delta on the lhr atl mco route with my 14 month son. Does anyone know what their sky cots are like. I tweeted them to ask but got a pretty vague answer saying that as long as the child is under 2 that the skycot will be fine for him. Maybe i am being sceptical but i am not sure if itrust this!

Many thanks

As far as I was aware all skycots n all airlines are only available up to 12 months old - I think technically it is weight dependant. If he is too heavy for the skycot, you will probably still be assigned the skycot seats which have much more legroom than regular seats.

Plus, I would say don't worry. I travelled with a 14 m/o and she did much better than expected even without a sky cot!

I thought most airlines were up to 12 months for skycots as well.

The other issue to consider is that there are usually only 1 or 2 available, even though there's normally space for a few (depending on the size of the plane). We once had to fight off a family who hadn't even considered booking one (we did, plus confirmed, plus arrived at the airport early for confirmation, plus asked the flight attendant the second we boarded) because, if their view, their kid was younger and therefore deserved it more (there was 1 month between them!). So if you do manage to book one and he's allowed in it, you may still need to fight for it!

ETA: the ^ happened with American Airlines (LHR to JFK)
