Flying Delta, stroller question

Hi,

We're thinking of flying Delta airlines in September and while I was reading it's baggage policy I came across this: "Children’s strollers and seat restraints are not counted as part of the standard baggage and therefore can easily be checked for free."

We're travelling with a 5 year old that wouldn't normally have a stroller. I was going to rent one down at Disney but if we can bring one for free I would just get a used one and re-sell it when we get home. My question is do you think Delta would accept a stroller for a 5 year old for free? Anyone else flown Delta and checked their stroller?

Thanks.

Strollers are not checked baggage and no fee. They don't police as to age of rider, so go ahead and do it.

Correct, no questions were asked of us in February. Bring it. I suggest picking up a stroller bag on amazon because it will be checked at the gate.

Agree with what others posted but I suggest a bag for the stroller if it is one you care about. I checked my new Maclaren with Delta and was not thrilled to find big chunks missing from the foam handles. Not a huge deal but didn't make me happy either. A gate check bag would have prevented it.
