Flying British Airways to London...seating question

Finally booked my flights to, and from, London for next fall. My friend wanted to fly BA, so I went with that. Used to Virgin. When I flew Virgin, they had seating by twos along the side. BA has seating for three, with some pairs in the back...with no windows. My question....have any of you flown BA, using those pairs of seats in the back of the plane? I could probably take a chance and hope no one took the middle seat in a row of three, but it makes more sense to try to get the double seating in the rear...as long as there are no huge reasons not to.
Any thoughts?

If the seats are the last ones then they may not recline. They are also close to the galleys and bathrooms so there will be a lot of traffic. As was mentioned, find out what airplane you are flying and consult seat guru. IMHO, I would fly Virgin unless BA is a lot cheaper.

I fly BA a lot and I love those pairs of seats at the back. Pros include the extra legroom from the third seat in the row ahead of you (in row 51 only), Cons are you cannot lean against the window to sleep.

Row 51 is my favorite. DH has long legs so he takes the aisle and I put his backpack under the window seat of Row 50, and my bag under my seat. We love that we don't have to bother anyone when we want to get up. The only bummer is that I miss being able to lean against the window to sleep. But all that elbow room makes up for it.

Be aware that BA charges for seat assignments in advance of 24 hours AND those pair seats at the back are priced at a higher cost than other seats.
The last row (53) does have some limitation of recline, I think.

Thanks guys. It's a 744. I've checked seat guru already. I really don't have a choice. Has to be BA....already booked. It was actually cheaper than Virgin. And yes. I kind of figured that there wouldn't be an empty middle seat!
Just curious as to how those back seats are. I prefer a window seat, but it's not a huge deal.
