Hi All,
I have been looking at flights and so far BA are priced quite reasonably for next year. I have noticed that some people on here have commented negatively about BA and I wanted to know if anyone can advise me why. I am looking at the Glasgow-London-Orlando route. Any comments welcome.
Thanks

I havent seen bad feedback for BA personally but wanted to say we were very impressed with BA when we flew last month.
Nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was semi edible. Both flights left on time and our journey home was the quickest ever in just over 7 hours !!I would not hesitate to fly BA again!!

Hope that helps.

I'm not exactly too helpful here but was in the same predicament a few days ago.

I had my fill of BA hassles to the extent that in 2002 I said NEVER again. But the difference in price made me wonder and I spoke to my boss who flew with them to NY this month and said they were brilliant. Also lots of good reviews of late on the DIS so I had to get rid of the chip on my shoulder.

We are doing EDI - LGW - MCO

I did price up GLA too and found EDI to be cheaper. We are between the two so no difference really, but make sure you check both if EDI is an option for you.

They have a good luggage allowance for carry on which is a plus if you are flying economy too.

Thanks for the replies.

Thanks 2Tiggies, I have just checked Edinburgh and it is coming out cheaper and better flight time in morning. Its probably easier for us to get to Edinburgh as well although we are between both airports too, in Stirling. I have to wait 10 days for the dates we need but hopefully if I can get them at that price I will definitely book.

I always check both airports and for last years GLA kept coming up cheaper but nominally so and as my dad drives us to the airport hotel and HATES going to GLA airport he will be delighted  This year I have yet to see a GLA departure beat EDI on any quote for any airline I have priced up. Not sure why so pleased it helped you - and it was quite a significant difference to this time.

At the end of the day, over the last two years with prices increasing as sharply as they have, I have had to accept that I can no longer be picky about my airline. First thing we dropped last year was our PE/Business/UC cabins. Now I am happy to fly with whoever gets me there safely within my budget. Food never comes into it. I know it is always a point we see on any thread but seriously, nobody picks an airline for the dining experience :rolleyes1

We have only ever flown to orlando with ba, they always seem to give me the best price and there sky cots go up to age 2 where as virgins are 12 months and that was a godsend for us. We have always had good emough service, its rearly late and when sitting at orlando waiting to board to come home i look across to all the children waiting to board the virgin plane and smile smuggly hehehe!!! :lmao:

We did BA in October and cant complain at all. There was a good selection of movies/TV/music and the food was fine for airlines and everything was on time.

Have flown BA and Virgin several times as well as United (from Edinburgh via NY) and to be honest, there's not much in it - good and bad experiences from all so I just go the the best price these days and will be doing AF/KLM next time.

Are you getting commission? :lmao:

Where do you fly from? I know that BA code share with AA and wondered if there is any way to check whether we will be flying on a BA plane or an AA one.

if you look for the flight on the AA website, they indicate whether it's operated by BA or not.

if you can't find the flight number on the AA website, search for flights on that day (as if you were making a reservation).
It will bring up all the flights they have, including code shares.
It will say "operated by British Airways" if it is.

Ah, thanks :thumbsup2 So if it says it's operated by BA, then it's a BA plane. How do I know if we get one of the AA planes? Oh never mind, it's not like I would have given up the cheap flights to be picky about the plane  I'm just nit picking now coz it's too soon to plan around park hours :rotfl2:

i'm not in their website now, but did you see if it says what plane it is?
most of the airlines do indicate what equipment you'll be on.
I'm one of those weird people who will only fly in certain planes, if possible, so i always check what equipment is listed.

if you want, you can PM me your flight and date, and i'll see if i can find the information.

Oh thank you. I will do that. I will just need to get into my email for the confirmation as I dont recall the numbers out of my head :headache:

That's very kind of you :flower3:
