If you are flying to Sanford with Globespan from Glasgow this summer, be aware that their timetable has been updated since Sunday to show that the Tuesday flight is flying all summer at 1030 rather than 0930 This comes after the change of the Monday flight which will depart all summer at 1410. Also be aware that the flight to Sanford on Friday June 8th has been cancelled. They have also removed all the descriptions of seat pitch from their advertising. At the moment, according to some boards, if you have booked 50" you get 38", if you booked 38" you just get economy seats, and no reduction in price as the Business and Premium 'service' is unchanged.

maybe they use a different type of aircraft on certain months - i have been told there will definitely be no change to my seat pitch - it is 34" for premium economy and has been since i booked flight last year (i have the original print out) economy is 30" and business 50". the only change in seat pitch is for people flying in May!! flight only or not i can complain in the most dignified manner possible and manage to get what i want :)

August 11th is flying a 757.

I just called them and was told August 11th is a 767 :thumbsup2

This gets better:

they give someone a refund of deposit because August 11th is going to fly a 757, not a 767... then they tell you that August 11th will fly a 767...

What should we believe?

I'm so glad I've cancelled.

It's all getting quite bizarre!

Whenever I've called them, they appear to be upfront about the problems they've had, but have always insisted that my flight is on a 767.

Are you flying August 11th? Because another poster claims to have had a refund for that date as the aircraft is a 757.

I take it that they do tell you however that the 767 might be changed for operational reasons? this is how all airlines get round the change of aircraft

The 11th isn't my travel date, I just called them out of interest.:headache:
And yes, they did tell me that the flight could be changed due to operational reasons, "in line with all other airlines".

Thats the catch all for all airlines.
The difference is that aircraft change for people like BA and Virgin could be a gatwick 747 changed for a heathrow 747, but for Globespan it can be a 767 changed for a 757 or worse still a 737-800!

Hi

I was just wondering what the difference is between a 737, 747, 757 and 767?

Hi

I was just wondering what the difference is between a 737, 747, 757 and 767?

Basically a 737 is a small jet capacity about 120 to 180 depending on age/series of model. Usually used on short European journeys.

A 757 is a jet capacity about 180 to 230 depending on age/series of model. Mainly used for European routes but can be used for North East US cities.

A 747 is a wide bodied jet with two deck capacity about 420 to 500 depending on age/series of model. Used for Trans-Atlantic flights including West Coast of USA non stop and worldwide with stop overs.

A 767 is also a wide bodied single decker jet capacity about 230 to 300 depending on age/series of model. Used mainly for Trans-Atlantic East Coast cities and similar distances worldwide.

More info here.

Thanks Claire,

I had wondered about the seat layout!

Evelyn

The seat latout on the Boeing website is just a suggetsion each airline then decides on their own seta plans depending on their requirements ie how many seats they want each class and the distance between seats etc.

Can anyone tell me anything good about flyglobespan as I'm looking at flights out of Glasgow in June that are very attractively priced :thumbsup2

I flew with them last year to Florida and they were fantastic. I'm flying with them again on July 1st and looking forward to it.
