Flydrive - prebook hotels or not

I'm sorry, not very IT competent and I keep sending my reply too soon.

To continue......if you can follow that very long thread it will introduce you to a lovely lady in the US called Tinkerbarb who has sent me a Fanclub card .As she's on Maternity leave from work I sent her a SAE with a $1 for postage (which I bought from one of my class who brought it in for his 'show and tell'!!)
The thread tells you how to contact her. She must be an Angel in disguise!

If you book on the Loews site (rather than the Universal site) you can also join LoewsFirst (it's free) and with that membership you can ask for a room upgrade when you check-in plus a gift in your room (eg wine or beer!!) From these boards it seems that you don't always get these perks if you have a discounted rate, but some people have been lucky, so it's worth asking!

All this seems too good to be true, but so far we've saved ourselves quite a bit entirely from following the tips on the Dis. It's such fun, I'm driving my family mad with all my latest little money-saving cunning plans. I don't think we'll ever go back to package hols again. Hope you have as much fun as I have planning - in some ways this has been as good as the holiday!!

Well we've just put in our request for the Angelina, so hopefully it will be available & that will be one thing sorted out.
Re the Universal hotels, I just found The Royal Pacific for the time we will be there for £88/night + taxes through Expedia which looks quite a good deal, not sure whether to do this or get an offsite hotel with free parking & breakfast.

That's about what we're paying but we're going in early August and you should be in the cheaper season. Hang on and I'll check for you!! (Should be getting food ready for a houseful tomorrow, but what the heck...)

Nightly rate at the Royal Pacific at Universal is $142 + taxes using the FAN code. I 'told' the computer it was for 3 nights from 8th September but it would be the same for anything around that time.

I think the 'big' question here would be crowd size in the parks because we're choosing to stay there almost totally for the 'front of the line' perk in the parks (and we'll just have to put up with the fact that it's a 4 star hotel, looks gorgeous etc etc!!!) We're going at a busier time than you so you may not need FOTL so much.

Hope you get lucky with the Angelina - shame it's not when we're there as our daughter is going to feel a bit odd on her hols just with the old fogey's. (Her older bro and sis can't come) I'm hoping we may meet up with some families with teenagers.
