Flydrive Oct 06???

We are planning a trip next Oct. Usually we just book a whole package with Virgin but due to being iinspired by you on the boards, I was thinking about booking an off-site hotel for 9 days and then fininsh off with a big treat on site. Maybe Poly or AKL. The flexibilty of flydrive means I can wait until next year to book rooms at a good price. Who has done this and through who?? Is it cheapest to book on-site hotels direct?? And lastly has anyone seen some good priced flydrives for next Oct. Thanks in advance Nicky.

Airtours - I just priced up a 14 day fly-drive for 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 13). They're currently offering 1st child free on certain dates. The dates I put in were 10-24 Oct and got a price of £1661 - didn't think that was too bad.

We've booked rooms direct with Disney in the US (using discount codes on mousesavers), through a US TA (www.mouseearvacations.com), through the UK TA we booked the package with & through UK Disney Co. You need to check what each is offering as it depends on exchange rates, offers at the time etc. & these can make a considerable difference. Believe it or not, one trip Virgin gave us the cheapest rate for ASMo! This was booked on a per night basis ontop of our flydrive.

I tried to get a fly drive with Virgin from Gatwick for 12th October 2006 for seven of us and was told that 12th, 13th and 14th were sold out. I wanted to go out on 12th and had to book BA for an extra £200.

We have just booked for next Sept/Oct & looked at splitting it all up but it was working out more expensive :flights if you book now will be the same as that portion of your fly drive, hotel will have 11.5% resort tax added plus extras- in room safe ,phone etc, the free car is an misnomer as you can get all inclusive deals here that are cheaper than just buying insurance!!
We booked with Jetsave : Virgin flights,21 nights at the Staybridge Suites in LBV = £2600 for 2 adults & a child ,seperately I couldn't get the price below £2900!
