Flushed Away or Santa Clause 3?

My 6 year-old is off school tomorrow, so I'm taking the day off and I thought we'd go to an early movie and get some lunch afterwards.

Which one do you think would be the better choice? I think Flushed Away is probably going to be the better movie and I know I'd enjoy it more, but I'm not sure if it's something that will go completely over my son's head. I know he's seen the first Santa Clause and he liked it, so he'll probably like #3, but I'm afraid the movie is going to suck.

Any thoughts?

Well, I liked the Santa Clause movies so I am looking forward to seeing the Escape Clause. So is my dd who is about your ds's age. I think Flushed Away looks good, too, but I agree the humor may be a little over ds's head.

Here's what you do.... sneak into one movie after the other. A twofer, really. :lmao:

We own the Santa Clause 1 and 2.. and planning to see SC3- Escape Clause. We can't wait.. I'm sure it is going to be good. Martin Short is in that movie, so it should be funny.

Well I was going to suggest Saw III and then lunch at Hooter's but now I guess I will keep my big mouth shut....

;)

I hadn't decided on where we're going for lunch yet. :rolleyes1 :teeth: :lmao:

It's a close call, Martin Short as Jack Frost should be a hoot but Flushed Away looks funny too

I would save Escaped Clause for closer to Christmas time. A couple years ago I took the DKs to see Polar Express on its opening day, and IMHO it was too soon for Christmas.

I would vote Flushed Away- too soon for Christmas. Save Santa for Thanksgiving weekend.

There's plenty of time to see the Santa Clause 3! It's not even Thanksgiving yet. I'd think that might get a six-year-old a little excited a little too early.

Flushed Away is supposed to be a GREAT movie. I'd vote for that now.

Good points, guys, about it being so far away from Christmas. :) :) I wasn't thinking about that -- I just went and looked to see what kid's movies were playing right now and those two were pretty much it. I think we'll go see Flushed Away -- I know he's seen previews and thinks it looks funny (6 year old boy and toilet humor? It's a sure bet :teeth: )

My DS (6) wants to see both of them. I gave him a choice for this weekend and he said Flushed Away. He saw previews for both movies. I'm thinking of SC3 closer to Christmas also.

I think Happy Feet is also coming out this month - which he wants to see. I was wishing one of the movies opened last weekend it was so crummy out.

IMO SC3 looks terrible. Another forced sequel with nothing but very lowbrow comedy. While Martin Short can be very good, when he's bad he flat out ruins a movie IMO. And Tim Allen has been terrible lately. Zoom was the worst movie I have ever seen.

While I don't know much about Flushed Away, it's made by Ardman. I have yet to see anything bad by Ardman, but I do agree it might be over Cam's head.

I was just thinking the same thing I have next Friday off.
I think we are going to Flushed Away.

I'm not really a Tim Allen fan (and the one Santa Clause movie I saw in the theatre, I think it was II, was marred by a hugely annoying patron in front of us who SNORED through the entire movie.... ) so my vote is for Flushed Away. I want to see it this weekend but not sure time will allow.

Have fun tomorrow, whatever you decide. :goodvibes

My 6yo has seen commercials for both--but the SC3 movie is the one she keeps mentioning.

I do wonder if despite the "over the head" humor that may take place if he wouldn't enjoy Flushed Away more. My girls loved cars even if they didn't get all the jokes that weren't written for 6 and 3 yo's.

I loved loved loved both SC movies & can't wait to see #3. We're going this weekend. We also want to see Flushed Away. Will try for that next weekend.

I'd like to be able to wait until Thanksgiving w/end to see SC, but I'm afraid it won't be in the theator anymore. Seems like they show new movies on a ton of screens and only keep it around for a couple of weeks.

So unlike when I was a kid. I remember waiting over a month before I could get tickets for Grease. It was always sold out.

I'm sure you'll have fun whichever flick you pick.

So...which did you see and do you recommend it? DS wants to see both of these movies.
