so, DH and I were headed out for Ft. Wilderness in our motorhome, got about 6 hours down the road and DH started in with muscle pain, slight nausea and just feeling down. We decided to turn back for home..... As much as I love Disney, its not worth going if someone is sick.
We aren't sure if it's the flu, but don't want to take chances. Anyway, I was able to change our ressie by a few days, and hopefully we will be able to get there later next week. Now, this was a very last minute trip so I haven't been researching like I usually do. I'm wondering if the crowds will be lower than they were the 1st week of October. Anyone have any input on what crowds may be from Feb. 8-15??? Of course, if he is still sick, or I get sick, we will postpone again. I am really hoping this passes quickly. For his sake and so we can take this trip. My son and family (3 grandkids) moved down there a couple of months ago and I REALLY miss them!!! Sorry this is so long. I have been down about the turn of events and reading the boards has been helpful!! LOL!!

I expect crowds to be heavy starting Sat 2/10 for the next 2 weeks. It’s Mardi Gras week & the week after is Presidents week.

So sorry you had to postpone your trip! I've been on pins and needles the past couple of months, as I had two Disney trips planned and the flu was making the rounds through our office. Fortunately, I work shifts that are kind of opposite to most of the rest of the office, so I've been able to avoid it so far (knocking on wood) but it's been tough. I hope your DH recovers quickly and that you remain well.

I would agree that Mardi Gras Week and President's Day week (and particularly the President's Day weekend) will be busier, but I have been there for both and had great trips. October is so crowded these days, that I would say it will probably be a little less crowded now, and certainly with the more moderate temperatures, you won't mind as much if it is crowded (heat + crowds = tired, cranky guests). Try to organize your dining and FP as much as possible before you go. The important thing is that you get to visit your grandkids! You will have fun with them, no matter how busy the parks are.

I'm getting to the point where I'd rather deal with big crowds than super hot weather. I think you'll have fun if you can take advantage to the common Dis tips like hitting RD and planning your FP strategically. Good luck with the flu, hope it misses you.:)

Thanks everyone. I'm hoping DH gets over this quickly. I really want to see those grandbabies!

I went to Epcot yesterday. It felt like Christmas. Mid-afternoon and you could barely walk around World Showcase. Festival of the Arts is drawing large crowds. Also, lots of sick people here, as well. Hope your husband feels better soon!
