flu shot -- yes or no?

My DH and are I both nurses and our employers force us to get the flu shot or we are terminated (I have huge issues with this) so yes, we received ours. My sons, absolutely not a chance I am injecting them with it. No way, no how.

My hubby and I are mandated to get it also, or get fired.

I had H1N1, luckily I had my vaccine, and they told me it could be a lot worse...how much worse than thinking I was going to leave one of my lungs on the floor?

Last year a bunch of us at work got the B strain, which is in the vaccine this year. Again, one week off work feeling like Someone beat me and left me on the curb. And that cough lingered for months!

I'll take my chances with the vaccine!

I've had the flu about 3 times that I can remember. Each time I very sincerely thought that I was for sure going to die. I honestly was so sick that I truly thought that I was not going to wake up the next day.

I remember that I needed to take a whole week off of my sit down clerical job. I went back to work and I was still so sick that I needed a second week off.

My coughing was so severe that I herniated two back discs. I needed to spend one entire month lying down. I needed to eat each and every meal lying down.
After one month, I had extensive physical therapy for another month.
I recovered without needing back surgery. The pain of having two herniated discs was so severe I seriously considered suicide.

This was all started from getting a bad case of the flu!

Needless to say ....... For the past 15 years I've gotten my flu shot, and I've never had the flu again !!!!!!!

* = Isn't it funny that the profit motives for Big Pharma and doctors are used as "Exhibit A" by anti-vaxxers to impeach what they say or promote, but when it comes to "brave maverick doctors" like Blaylock that notion gets amazingly overlooked?!?!?!

See, I'm not convinced on the bolded. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it hurts or is bad, I'm just not convinced it's the help everyone makes out.

This...one thousand times this!!!! I think many people who say they got the "flu" have never really had it, it's so so so awful. The one time I had it I finally understood how so many people died during the outbreak in the early 1900's, it's that awful. I ended up on short-term disability for the week of work I missed, my roommate actually moved out for that week so she wouldn't get it.

Flu shot all the way!!!!!
