Flu on Christmas Day!

The plus was that it didn't start until after the kids finished opening presents so we still had a nice morning. The rest of the day - not so great. I guess this is one way to lose all those Holiday pounds.

Still pretty blah today so I will probably miss opening presents at the in-laws. After I finish typing this I will be back in bed watching tv.

Sorry to hear that. You can call your Dr. for Tamiflu. If you start taking it within 24 hours it will lessen the symptoms and length of the flu (the achiness, fever, and upper respitory symptoms will ease from what I read)! Hope the rest of the family stays healthy for the New Year.

OMG... I came down the WORST flu on Christmas Eve a few years ago. Even went to the Dr. on Christmas morning... I hate to hear that you are sick!

And, yes, Tamiflu can really help.

(((HUGS))) to you... that was our Christmas LAST year... we'd just gotten home from Disney and a week later, my 4 yr old DD began w/ influenza symptoms.... DH followed a few days later-they were miserably sick w/ the flu for nearly 2.5 weeks.... my 2 yr old DD (the only one able to get the flu shot last year) woke up on Christmas morning w/ the symptoms-the 3 of them were unable to move, eat, open gifts, etc.... I was soooooooo depressed!!!!! (((HUGS))) and hope you're feeling better soon!

One year when the kids were 9/7/5 we got strep throat and everyone was sick . No Dinner, no one wanted to open presents and we got up opened a few and everyone went down for sleep after a dose of meds. It was a bad year withe all 5 of us miserable.

I dont know what I have but I am so sick I could die.DH felt bad Christmas Eve and was in the bed until we went to his Brothers later that day.He was still sick yesterday.Then I started feeling sick yesterday morning by last night I could barely talk,my lungs feel raw, my throat is killing me,I cant stand to cough because it hurts so bad and when I do I am coughing up nasty stuff(I know TMI).So it is 1:30 and I am now just getting out of the bed.

I hesitate to post on this thread for fear of getting what you all have. Drink fluids, rest and try to get some Tamiflu or that stuff you spray in your nose. Feel better.

You must have been bad! I was up yesterday morning with the same thing. As my head was in the toliet, my dh walked in and said to me. You must have been bad this year!

We have the stomach bug at our house but its the day after Christmas. I think we got it at BIL's on Christmas Eve.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone! (well, not really - I wish none of us were sick).

Update is there will be no opening of presents tonight because my Brother In Law now has it - so it looks like Christmas is being rescheduled to Thursday! That's one way to keep the holiday lasting longer.

I'm planning on going to work tomorrow - it's at least jeans week so I don't have to be dressed up.

Hope you are feeling better. I have a HORRIBLE cold, cannot breathe through my nose at all and couldn't taste any of the yummy food! How sad.
