Flu and Covid Vaccine

Just be aware the vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting COVID. It just means, if you do get it, the case will be milder.

I am aware. We've been getting the vaccines/boosters since they were first rolled out. I can't imagine how much worse I would have felt two years ago without them.

I am also an example of getting the flu in early 2018 months after getting the shot in late 2017. It happens, but I like the chances of reducing my symptoms when possible.

Very true. When I got COVID for the first time this past June, my only symptom was tiredness for two days.

I got the Flu and COVID shots on Wednesday , one in each arm. The COVID arm is still sore two days later. Felt a little tired and achy but ibuprofen took care of that.

I got the flu and the 2024-25 Covid shots about 3 weeks apart. I wasn't even aware that the new Covid shot was officially recommended until after I had the flu vaccination. The Covid one left me with a slightly sore arm for maybe a day or two, I guess, but that's hit or miss with the flu as well, at least in my case.

I don’t get either vaccine, but my DH got both at the same time and he felt fine. My mom also got both at the same time too and did well with it.

We got both Flu and Covid vaccines this week. One in each arm. Both arms were sore and warm. DH was fine, but I was tired the next day and had a two hour afternoon nap, and a great sleep that night. I was back to normal the next day. I’m headed to Florida in a few weeks so I need the extra protection.

We also got both last month, one in each arm. Such a simple thing to do to prevent something serious with our own health or our family's. I expect these shots will be our "norm" each fall for the rest of our lives. The protection is well worth a couple days of arm soreness.

The flu shot tends to only give me that arm soreness, maybe a slight tiredness and that I'm totally fine with getting every year. Covid vaccine on the other hand is so much more than arm soreness. I know most people these days are aware of it but there are people out there that simply can't tolerate the vaccine because of the side effects. After 3 doses I'm aware of what it does to me and it's too much for my body to take and there's no way I could do it every year for the rest of my life until they create one that doesn't affect me like the covid vaccine has (the second and third dose both had side effects that lingered for months afterwards for example). It's unfortunate and not what I had hoped for; so in a nutshell it's not a simple thing for everyone.

I had planned on getting the flu shot today but I'm battling a sinus infection so it'll have to wait until next week.
