The prices that I have been quoted by my Wedding Consultant for flowers have seemed a bit over the top. I was considering doing silk flowers and making my own bouquets. Has anyone found the real flowers to be more reasonably priced once you actually made your specific choices? I think $300 for a bridal bouquet is a lot.

Yes, Disney Floral is pretty expensive. I found their quality to be wonderful, though. If memory serves, I think my bridal bouquet was $250, but I'm not positive. I believe there are some outside vendors you could look into that might be less expensive. Here is one that I've heard pretty good things about:

I am using an outside florist. It would have been too expensive to use Disney b/c I have myself, the groom, 5 bridesmaids, and 5 groomesmen... parents, grandparents, etc....

I have been working with a great florist outside of disney... same flowers, 1/2 the price!!! i would be happy to share her name and number. Email me at Jamie0201@aol.com, or PM me for the info. I am at work now, and have the info at home.

Charming Events is great! Emily is wonderful to work with and is probably the nicest, most enthusiastic vendor you'll speak to.

Have you talked to your Disney Florist about your expectations for pricing? They were great at working with us to keep the floral within a price range that I found acceptable. The only thing I splurged on was my bouquet ($225), all of the bridesmaid bouquets were $75, which is a low end price for most florists. Disney was more than willing to work with me to bring the costs down below their published "starting" cost. They also made suggestions of flowers that would be local and in season to keep the price down as well. Our total floral for all of the bridal party, roses for the mothers, alter arrangement and rose petals for the flowergirls as well as the reception tables came in at about 1000. Also, keep in mind that the Disney locations are beautiful even without a whole lot of dressing-up.

I haven't signed a contract yet as we haven't picked a date yet...plus we are still determining if we can have the wedding that we want at Disney and stay within our budget. I can't imagine a $200 bouquet of flowers--I would love to see pictures of your flowers Marne! Maybe I'll do mine real and do the bridesmaids with silk? I figured with silk I could do mine and two bridesmaids for $300...am I being unrealistic? The other consideration is how to transport everything down there for the wedding...
