Happy Birthday!!!:banana::banana:

Such a cute kid. What happened? LOL :rotfl:
I was thinking the same thing. Up until those last couple things weren't looking very Grimm at all....... :rotfl:
Happy Birthday Alek

:lmao: Rosie! But with your reputation with poles and pigs are you concerned with where the cake is so you could pop out of it??? A new "skill" that might do wonders straightening Alek out!!! (If that were possible AND he survived it!!!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mom was kind and didn't post the best ones. :rolleyes1

:lmao: Very few things shock Alek but I think Rosie jumping out of a cake would just about do him in.

awesome cake, i want one

Alek didn't give us much notice about wanting to do his birthday a week early so Mom had to pick out a random cake already made. We lucked out with the Toy Story cake. Mom even forgot what was on the cake after buying it so it was a surprise to her too when it got brought out. :lmao:

Here is MY tribute to Alek for his birthday in picture format. Mom left some of these out, no idea why. :confused3

This one I am posting simply because of the lovely early 90's outfit he is sporting.

Always up to mischief, he had decided that he would steal all the bread so that nobody could have toast for breakfast, the villain!

What a sweet picture, Alek loves his brother. In reality he was already corrupting Erich's young mind. You can tell from that mischievous gleam in his eye.

At a young age he was already well versed at giving his poor sister panic attacks. He started off by climbing bookshelves, he has now graduated to hanging himself off cliffs.

Day 3

I have chosen Animal Kingdom as our park for the day. I am hoping for a nice sunny day as we have never been to AK when it has not been raining.

I have an early entry ADR for Tusker House booked. Not sure if we are going to use it as I am trying to cut down on the ADR's and we don't really need the advantage of an early entry into AK. Erich, however, does love his breakfast buffets.

We always seem to follow the same pattern when we go to AK. We start off by heading to the safari.

014.jpg

Then we walk the Pangani Forest Trail to visit with the gorillas.

067.jpg

Then off to Asia for a ride on Everest, Kali River Rapids and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Mom rode EE back in 2009, will she brave it again this year?

106.jpg

After that it is over to Dinoland to ride Dinosaur.

179a.jpg

Then Camp Minnie-Mickey for Festival of the Lion King.

Those are our usual must-do's for the park.

This year I want to try out Primeval Whirl and go out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. We haven't done either of these things before so I'd like to give them a whirl.

As for lunch, it will probably be at Pizzafari or we might skip lunch and just leave lots of room for dinner. I do plan on trying the Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel, I have heard great things about it and it just sounds simply delightful.

Other attractions we might try out:

Finding Nemo: The Musical - We weren't big fans of it in 2007 but Mom and I saw it again in 09 and I enjoyed it. We'll see if I can convince Alek and Erich to give it another try.

Flights in Wonder: We thought this show was great when we saw it last, the trick is fitting it into the touring schedule. It is not high on the priority list so we won't cross the park just to get to it but if we are in the area during a show time we will stop.

Tough to Be A Bug - Only been on this once, we always seem to forget that it is there.

We never seem to stay at the park for the whole day, we are usually out of there by 3.

After leaving the park it is back to the hotel for some relaxing by the pool or just a nap in the room.

We have an ADR for dinner at Chef Mickey's for 5pm so the pool time really depends on what time we leave the park.

We have never been to Chef Mickey's so we are hoping for a good time. I have read mixed reviews but we are not gourmet eaters so as long as the food is hot I am sure it will be fine.

After that the night is open. We will probably just go back to the resort and hang out and go to bed early. We are an exciting bunch!

Great plans !!In August Judy has requested Nemo as she has never seen it , we always do Lion King !!Like you Safari is first and of course for the girls EE, Kyle got into that Conservation thing last time and he prolly will this time and that took them to Rafiki's Planet Watch !!!We may skip Bugs as they don't like the ending ... chickens:rotfl2:I a the only Dinasaur rider so we will see !!Have you tried Restauransauras for lunch , they have an awesome Shrimp Po Boy!!!

Nope, we have only eaten in AK once and that was at Pizzafari.

Sounds like a great plan for the day!

That bird picture is freaking me out. Big time!

Your Ak plans look great. I never seem to know what to do when I am there. We usually just hit the main rides and end up leaving since it is always 200 degrees when we are there. This time I really want to see Lion King, Nemo and the birds. The only show I remember seeing in AK is Tarzan and that's long gone.

We had dinner at CM last year and it was okay. We all found things that we liked and it is so nice to see so many characters at once. I guess I must have liked it b/c I wanted to book it for our arrival night dinner, but I was outvoted. No CM for me.:sad2:

You MUST see Lion King, it is fantastic!

I love AK. Its my favorite park.
Unlike you guys, I've never had rain while there, and its never been that hot.

Lion King is a must for us. Last trip everyone in our group went in to see Nemo, hubby and I sat it out. Just didn't feel like it was something I needed to see. We had beer instead. :thumbsup2

My never do list: EE, KRR. I'm not a big coaster person, and don't like to get wet either. I just sound like so much fun, don't I? :rotfl:

The food at Tusker House character breakfast was good. We really enjoyed it. The overall atmosphere was a bit loud for me, but if you want to get in early and eat a tasty breakfast, I say go for it.

What are you talking about Lessa??? I am a pretty adventorous/gourmet eater, although I'm not sure about this trip, perhaps I can asked them to puree my meal LOL, now that would be interesting. The kids suggested that I carry my Magic Bullet around, and puree my own meal LOL.( Note: I recently had a MS set back, I am not able to swallow most foods without difficulty (Esophagus - Dysphagia) , so my diet has been soft and palliable foods, if I don't want to deal with pain.) I have checked out most menus' of restaurants that we are considering, and there are things that I can eat. Yeah! That means more Dole Whips, and Drinking my Way around the World, instead of eating my way around the world:banana:

By the way Lessa, you provided with with a laugh and smile this morning with your photo post of Alek. Thank you.

I sooooo agree !! I am only doing Nemo as a MUST for Judy!!! Not that I don't like Nemo I just LOVE:love: Lion King !!

It is possible to do both! Mom and I did last trip and we still left the park early. It is all about good timing! ;)

We love AK too and I would love to see it in the sunlight, I bet it is even more beauriful with the sun shining down.

We love Lion King, it is one of our favourites out of all the parks.

You wouldn't like Univesal's Islands of Adevneture, that park is almost entirely coasters and water rides.

I enjoyed the food when we ate there. Alek doesn't want to eat there again b/c the last time we ate there he put his poncho on the floor and when he put it back on after the meal it smelt like poo, who knows what was on that carpet!

Have you tried Restauransauras for lunch , they have an awesome Shrimp Po Boy!!!

I have to agree about the awesome Shrimp Po Boy. We may never eat at Pizzafari ever again. :rotfl:

Your Animal Kingdom day looks great! Finding Nemo is fine, but Lion King is best. I think it's all that original music in Finding Nemo the Musical. It's more fun to know the songs. Although I do think it would be interesting if they made a special edition of Finding Nemo the movie that included all the original songs from the musical.

Happy Birthday to Alek. I would think that after the Princess cake and My Little Pony, Toy Story would be delightful.

:eek:We had breakfast at the Tusker house in August and it was delicious and fun. I love both Nemo and Lion King and try to do both. We are probably going to give the bird show a try in May; I don't like birds  but Frank loves birds.
