Flowers and Firsts - A May 2010 PTR, 5/13 TR started! Link on pg 39

After CMs we went back to the MK with a plan of staying for EMHs - we didn't quite make it that late, but had a great evening!

This is Justin and my friends oldest DS, they are the same age and met while on the same 6 year old t-ball team. They are still great friends today, and I met a wonderful person in his mother as well!

October 16th:

Started at AK, there were several first for us this time - EE, Dinosaur & Primeval Whirl

The one and only time I've seen Devine

Mmmmmm, Mickey Bar

There was some time spent at the pool in the afternoon

Then we had dinner at Le Cellier, where I fell in love with the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread! We also saw Illuminations that night - love this pic of Jared on Don's shoulders with his hands moving to the music!

October 17th:

Epcot

We had lunch at the Garden Grill - loved it, best interaction we have ever had at a character meal!

That night we went our separate ways. Jared and I went to MNSSHP, while Don and Justin went off on their own. I would have loved for us to do this as a family, but I was lucky to get Don to agree to buying two tickets, he was VERY against paying extra for this event, but he relented when Jared said he would take the tickets as his birthday present (his birthday was about a month before we went). Jared and I had a blast!

I was so excited to meet Snow White with all 7 Dwarfs! Jared had a chance to ride Snow White's Scary Adventure with one of the Dwarfs, but he was too bashful and wouldn't go

The parade was awesome! We went to the 2nd one and had no trouble finding a spot on the curb to watch. My pictures are terrible, but I'll post a few anyway. Jared especially loved the POTC float because Jack Sparrow looked right at him, smiled at bowed. Jared was totally into JS (as you can tell from his costume) at the time and that interaction alone made his night!

I'm enjoying your October trip memories! I would love to do the Halloween party on a trip. We've done MVMCP, but I've heard that MNSSHP is even better.

I love CBR!!! We also stayed in Jamaica, and you are right- that walk across the bridge in the mornings was such a beautiful way to start the day! I looked forward to that walk every morning!

MNSSHP is also one of my favourites! I love those dancers!!!

October is an awesome time to go though the one time we went in Oct. they had record high temps...it really felt more like summer (sooo hot and humid!) than October.

Yep, I think I'll have to have at least one Mickey Ice Cream Bar! My list of snacks just keeps growing, I'm going to come back from this trip 20 pounds heavier!

I haven't done MVMCP, but I did see the fireworks this past trip and I have to say that the ones from MNSSHP were better IMO. It's worth doing if you ever happen to be there while it's going on!

The MNSSHP parade is the only one at WDW that I have seen start to finish - it was awesome!

I know, it's hard to go in October with school isn't it? The week we went the kids had 3 days off already for parent/teacher conferences and fall break, we just took them out for the other two. Don't you guys have some kind of rule though that prevents you from taking off right before or after a break? I'm pretty sure my SIL, who is also a teacher, has complained about that before.

I know, they've gotten so big. Justin was 10 that trip and Jared had just turned 6.

It was fun going with friends, I know other people have posted that it is a hassle to travel with another party, but we had a great time together!

It was so much fun going with friends! We didn't do everything together, we ate most meals together and did quite a bit of touring together, but we also had plenty of family time where we just went off and did our own thing. It can work great as long as everyone goes into it with the same ideas.

Ha! You should have seen my bed last night - I had clothes spread all over the place trying to decide what I wanted to take. I think I've about got it figured out, everything is folded and sitting on the bench at the end of my bed now. So, not officially packed, but definitely making progress!

Yeah, that was back when they would wear the same shirt and think it was cool. Now when Jared tries to dress like Justin, Justin has a fit!

We had a few pretty hot days when we went in October too, but it was still much cooler than summertime - didn't have all that humidity!

I know! Just 3 more days! Getting my hair cut and highlighted this morning, then I need to come home and clean the house. Not sure why I feel the need to clean before I leave - goodness knows the boys won't have it clean when I get home!

Yeah, Don was a little grumpy that trip. It's probably my fault for pushing the trip in the first place, but if you put a truth serium in him, he would admit that we had a lot of fun with our friends that trip.

How funny! Jared loved that costume, wore it 3 years in a row until he finally outgrew it. I passed it on to another DISer that lives in the same town as we do.

I'm getting there! I organized all of the clothes that I want to take yesterday, they are folded and ready to go into the suitcase. Went to the Disney Store yesterday and got my Mom's park pass, today I'm getting my hair cut and highlighted - it's coming together!
