Flowers and Firsts - A May 2010 PTR, 5/13 TR started! Link on pg 39

I'm not usually a fan of the Keens, but yours look really cute. :lovestruc Do you mind sharing the style name and color? In the past, I felt like they looked too clunky on my feet, but I'll have to give them another try. They would be perfect for the July trip that I'm taking with my mom...especially for AK and Kali River Rapids!

Sometime when you are in Famous Footwear, try on a pair of Teva Mush flip flops....
My favorite for park touring.

Well, I went into the Famous Footwear nearest to my house today and they didn't carry them :sad1: There is another one in the mall, I'm sure I'll be there again before too much longer, so I'll look there as well :thumbsup2

FUN POSTS!!!! What a great Day 5 wow!!! LOVE it!! I have to tell you GO to WPE for dinner in DTD, you won't be disappointed. A GREAT meal there, especially as a QS meal (I didn't remember if you were on the DDP or not) but the food is really good!

Segway?! Cirque? WHAT a special special trip for you and mom! How nice! AND YOU are there for Cinco de Mayo???? :cool1: Oh how fun!!!!! enjoy that Tequila bar! I hear it is awesome! It looked really cool when we looked inside!!!

YAY YAY :yay: for Mickey Mail! I got some today, too! Cruise stuff. But it is fun to see mail from Disney in your stack!

Okay SHOES... NICE! I have never bought a pair of the Newport keens (my boys have them), but I do have a pair of Keen flip flops (they are more like slides I guess, a strap with a covered toe, and I also find them very comfortable! I am sure they will serve you well! Love the animal print Reef flops, too! I just bought a pair of Black Fit Flops, those I love! :thumbsup2 But isn't shoe shopping fun!

I think I am leaning towards WPE, we are on the DDP and I know that it is a really good value for a CS meal - plus they have creme brulee, my favorite!

I completely forgot to check out the tequila bar when we were there in December, but from the pictures I've seen it looks pretty cool. Can't wait to have a margarita and celebrate Cinco de Mayo with my fellow DISers!

I looked at those Keen flip flops too and was really tempted, I just didn't think Don would appreciate it if I got three new pairs of shoes....... :rolleyes1

Great plans for May 5th! Your day looks incredible!

There was a slight possibility that me and DH were going to be doing it then as well, but I don't think we are going to be able to fit it in. It certainly would have been funny if we had met unplanned like that!

Can't wait to see how things shape up for the Cinco de Mayo Meet. I agree - we could be packed in there!:rotfl:

You will love LaNouba!!! It is incredible! What a great way to spend the evening with your mom! Hard choice btwn EOS and WP, but for dessert, you have to have Ghiradelli's ice cream! :lovestruc

Great decision to get some new comfortable shoes. Can't go wrong there!;)

Oh, that would have been so cool if we had been on the same Segway tour! If you decide that you can squeeze it in we are doing the one at 8:30.

As much as I like ice cream, if we end up at WPE then I will be having the creme brulee for dessert - my favorite!

Another fantastic day planned from beginning (Segway tour) to end (La Nouba) with lots of fun in between!

Favorite WS snack? Hmmm...I would have to say a pastry from France! :lovestruc

Love the new shoes -- especially the flip flops! Too cute!

I second Anita on the Teva Mush flip flops! I have a pair and while I have never worn them for park touring, I did wear them to the zoo on Saturday, and they were fantastic.

Why have a never seen the Teva Mush flip flops??? I went to Famous Footwear today and they didn't have any. I'm going to have to google it!

The rotisserie chicken is so good, and so is the pork chop, but there are plenty of choices for all tastes at Sunshine Seasons.

Soarin' is my favorite ride in all of Disney World. :)

Good to see another person who has had good experiences at Sunshine Seasons. :thumbsup2

Soarin' is pretty to close to the top of my favorites list as well - it's hard for me to pick just one, but this one is darn close!

A bit late, but I'm here and all caught up! Your plans sound great! :thumbsup2

Hey Denise, thanks for jumping on board!

Ooohhh, I really like those Keen shoes. :thumbsup2 You'll have to give me an update after your trip, and let me know how your feet fared in them. I'm like you--I hate the thought of wearing tennis shoes every day when it's hot, but I know that my feet cannot stand being in flip-flops when I'm walking so much.

I will! I wore them today just to see how they would feel and they were great!

Day 5 sounds wonderful!! You are going to spoil your mom with all of your Disney ideas.... she will want to go back and bring you.... that was the plan, right? ;)
Favorite WS snack~ we love the chocolate crepes that you can find in France. :thumbsup2

No, of course, it wasn't in my plans for mom to love WDW and want to go back........ :rolleyes1

Lots of people suggesting pasteries from France! I looked up the Napolean that Michelle suggested and it looks so yummy, maybe we'll get one of those and a chocolate crepe and share :thumbsup2

Day 5 plans sound great!!! I was really considering a Segway tour....have always wanted to ride around on one :rotfl2: and I think I get a (very small) DVC discount...can't wait for the meet either :goodvibes I saw the Cirque show in Vegas "O"....there was a lot in and on top of water...they are amazing!

My favorite WS snack....a GG slushie! :rotfl: Okay....well some might not consider that a snack...so how about something from the patisserie to go with it :thumbsup2

Oh yes and shoes :lovestruc I have those Keens and they are very comfortable and allow for good support too. I have some flip flops that I love...I am on my second pair...they are Montrails and you put them in the oven and bake them for 5 minutes and then wear them for a bit while they form to your feet :goodvibes

Tracy

I really can't wait for the Cirque show, I hope it lives up to my expectations!

:lmao: at the GG slushie, I'm sure we'll have one or two (or three  ) while we are there, but I'm actually looking for food here :thumbsup2

So glad you like your Keens, I wore them today and I think I'm really going to like them too. I've never heard of those flip flops, how cool that they form to your feet!

Love your shoes... I've never tried Keens myself, but a lot of DISers rave about them! :thumbsup2

And those are my favorite DD stores, too!

I think saving Cirque du Soleil for an adults-only trip is a great idea. Ed and I saw it on one of our rare trips alone and all I could think of was that I was glad we hadn't blown all that $$ on tickets for the kids.

I'm sure they would've enjoyed many parts of the performance, but 90 minutes is a long time for a kid to sit still!

Day Five looks fantastic!

Kathy

Yeah, on Cirque, I think my boys would enjoy it to a point, if it were shorter they would probably like it better. So, this is a perfect time for me to check it out without worrying about fidgiting kiddos!

Well, they aren't a delicate shoe thats for sure! I think these with all the holes in them though help cut down on the clunkyness (nice word, huh? ;) ).
The style is called Newport H2, the color on the box says 'slate black/canton' If I were to name the colors I'd say chocolate brown & teal :confused3

Thanks for the shoe info. By the way, the plans for your trip look great. I hope you and your mom have a fantastic time. :goodvibes

Hi! Just subscribed to your PTR & read all 15 pages straight through!!! I had a million thoughts while reading but of course, now I forget everything I was going to say! :rotfl2:

All of the plans for your trip look great!!! Can't wait to hear more about the Segway Tour & see your photos without all the people in them! I would really love to do that tour someday!

Your Easter looked great as well. I understand what you mean about the kids growing up. My oldest just turned 9 & it is bittersweet knowing he won't be "my little baby" much longer! I can't believe how often he says "Mom, I'm too old for that." I figured he wouldn't do that until he was a teenager! :rotfl:

I thought it was funny when you mentioned hiding money in the eggs...my parents always did this so I have continued the tradition! I laughed because my nephew just turned 3 & he was looking inside the eggs & asking for money when there was candy in them! Guess its not a good tradition to start "too early" ?!?!? ;)

Can't wait to read more about your trip!!! So excited for you that its coming up so quickly!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

You're welcome & thank you!!

Love the shoes.

Not long now...

I know! I'm so excited, a couple more days and I can say 3 weeks :woohoo:

Hi there and :welcome: to my PTR! I know exactly what you mean about forgetting what you wanted to comment on, I do that all the time when I get behind on a report!

My youngest is 9, and is already so grown up as well. Having that older brother pushed him to do so a little quicker I think.

We were cleaning Justin's room yesterday and putting all of his Easter stuff (candy from his bucket, stuff from my brother & mom, etc) all in one place, and he said to me 'are we going to do this again next year?' I asked if he was ready to stop, he just shrugged and said 'I don't care'. *Sigh* :sad2:

That's funny that you have always hidden money in your eggs. When I was a kid we didn't even have candy in ours, we hid the real hard boiled eggs that we had colored. I've never done that for my kids though, we color some that we put in a centerpiece on the table but don't do anything with them past that. Didn't even do that this year though.

I see you are planning a Christmas trip. We went this past Christmas and it was awesome! I'll do my best to get over to your PTR today and check out your plans :thumbsup2

Your plans sound wonderful! Just had to give a big :thumbsup2 for Sunshine Seasons. I love the variety available there since we're always traveling with a big family group - everyone can get what they want. I've had the salmon there a couple of times and it's been very good if you want a healthy meal.:confused3

As for a snack in WS, I vote for anything at all from the French Patisserie. YUM!

Day 5 looks great!! I liked EoS and WPE equally so I am absolutely no help. Both are yummy! Cute shoes. I love the blue/brown color combination especially. :)

Yay! Another thumbs up for Sunshine Seasons! :yay:

Ok, it's official, we have to go to France for a pastery!

Thanks Kelli, I think I'm going to really like the Keens. Now I'm thinking about getting some of their flip flops.........

Day 6 - Thursday, May 6th

Today we will be heading to Hollywood Studios.

Hollywood-Studios-20th-Anniversary-.jpg

We are going on a day that has no Fantasmic! showing, immediately following a day that did have one, so I'm hoping for low crowds here. My plan is to get there well before rope drop so that we will be able ride Toy Story Midway Mania first thing and then grab a FP for later.

toy_story_mania_ride.jpg

Also on the must do list as far as rides are concerned (at least for me, can't say if Mom will attempt this one or not) is Rock 'N Rollercoaster. I love this ride!!

disney-s-hollywood-studios_rock-n-r.jpg

As much as I hate to say it, we will probably skip Tower of Terror. It is themed so well that I'd love for Mom to see it, but I'm not a huge fan of the multiple drops and I don't think she would be either.

tower_of_terror.jpg

The other things on the must do list include:

The Great Movie Ride, love it, and hope we get the cowboy instead of the gangster

The_Great_Movie_Ride_05.jpg

One Man's Dream

The Animation Academy

Animation20Academy2002.jpg

And last but not least, one of my favorite Disney shows, Beauty and the Beast

hollywood-studios-shows.jpg

If time allows, we'll see Indiana Jones & Voyage of the Little Mermaid, I haven't seen this one since 2005 - I think it's time to check it out again!

Lunch will be counter service. I'm thinking of trying Starring Rolls

Starring-Rolls-Bakery.jpg

Where I just might be tempted to try a Butterfinger cupcake!

butterfingercupcake.jpg

Once we've completed all we want to do at DHS, we'll take the friendship boat over to Epcot. We have a 6:30 ADR at Coral Reef for dinner

coralreef.jpg

No real plans after dinner, we may just call it an early night and head back to enjoy the resort, or if we aren't too tired of walking around, maybe we'll go over to the Boardwalk for a bit.

Love the Studios plan!

Sometimes it can be so hard to catch all the shows you want because of the times... you can wind up criss-crossing the park all day!

Coral Reef is one of my favs...

Kathy

You have inspired my plans for a "10 days from now" countdown I will do on my PTR. I have started working on it already including "borrowing" pictures from the internet to go with it. I did DHS last night...be prepared to see many of the same picutres you selected again :rotfl2: (um, yeah...I'm thinking we are a bit alike Michelle ;)...sorry)

Your plans sound familiar

Yesterday I dropped Daniel off at the sitters and noticed she was wearing a pair of Keens like the ones you selected. I asked about them and she said she has had them for years and still loves them!

That Butterfinger Cupcake looks like a meal all by itself!

No kidding! That might have to be eaten is small doses throughout the day :thumbsup2

I know, those show times can really mess with a good touring plan! That's why I only put one on the 'must do' list, anything else will just be gravy.

I haven't been to Coral Reef in awhile, the one time we did go our service was less than desirable, I'm hoping this time it will be different. Food was good though!

Gotta get me one of those cupcakes!! Food porn addict popcorn::

Oh my, have you ever seen photos of all the dessert cases at Starring Rolls?
drool.gif
Certainly not good for those of us trying to lose weight.......

Glad I could be inspirational! It's only fair since I'm determined to do some flashback posts thanks to you. Don't you love google images? :thumbsup2 Are you saying we could tour together and not argue over what we would be doing??? Can't wait to see your plans!

I'm glad your sitter still likes her shoes! I've worn them twice this week and so far so good. In fact, I think they are so comfy that I'm thinking about ordering a pair of their flip flops!

OK, first...I love this smilie, I may have to steal it!

I have given up on trying to lose weight until after our trip, instead I have decided to get the most out of deluxe dining, I will be in training for the next 3 weeks :rotfl2:

Oh yes, very similar plans!

I agree that the theming of ToT is excellent! I hope your mom will ride Rock 'N Rollercoaster with you. I LOVE it too. Coral Reef looks neat. We've never been before.

Hey Michelle....we will also be in DHS on May 6th! Meetcha at rope drop!
