flour/water t-shirt?

I read in one of these recent posts that someone was doing the flour /water t-shirts. What is that? They mentioned the WDW t-shirt link but I could not find it. I try to search but every time I search I get cicked out - server is busy. Anybody able to describe or give a link? I can not image what you could do with flour and a t-shirt that would last. Is it some kind of tye-dye medium?

I've tried to find the thread for you as well and am still getting the server busy message. I thought I would at least send a brief description until I can find the thread with the instructions.

This came from a family fun magazine. You put a flour/water mixture on a t-shirt in a design of your choosing. The magazine showed a swirled circle pattern. Many on here have modified it to do three swirled circles for the Mickey Mouse ears. You then let it dry for quite some time. After it is completely dry, you spray it with dye to get the tie dye effect. When that is dry, you peel off the flour/water mixture to see the white design underneath. Hope this gives you an idea. I'll keep looking for the thread with instructions and post it here when I find it.

Ok, here are the directions I found buried in the original design thread.

Hi...someone asked me for the directions to make the shirts in my sig so here they are: (sorry if they've been posted on this thread already)

I think this was from the Family Fun magazine.

Supplies:
Squirt bottle (I used an almost empty glue bottle and just cleaned it out)
Flour
Water
Spray fabric paint

Mix the flour and water until it is the consistency of mustard and pour into bottle. Squeeze onto the shirt in whatever pattern you desire. Lay the shirt in the sun to dry. After the mixture has hardened completely spray with fabric paint then lay the shirt in the sun for paint to dry. When the paint has completely dried slowly peel away the flour/water mixture to reveal the pattern below.

I did this on a hot day at the end of September and by the evening we had all 7 shirts ready to go. I even added spray glitter for fabric after we peeled the flour mixture off. We got lots of comments from CMs and guests alike. The CM on the boat to and from Tom Sawyer Island loved them...he said, "OOOOHHHH I love those!!! I read about them in Family Fun and have been dying to make one!!!" I hope he did because they're so easy and fun and you just can't mess them up!

The magazine had a sunburst pattern I believe. We just wanted to make it more Disney-ish and decided to use Mickey's head. I just swirled the mixture around and around with some being straight and others being at angles. Little did I realize that DisneyQuest has that same pattern on the "Q" and the folders that you get your Photopass pictures in also have Mickey's head in that same swirl pattern. Pretty neat!!!
