Flo's New Menu

I ate at Flo's for the first time a year or so ago and had the yummy turkey dinner, so I'm sad to see it's gone also. But, on a positive note, we stopped at Flo's last Friday on Dapper Day, just to grab something small. I had the kids turkey sandwich meal and was quite pleased at what I got. It came on a slider size bun and I also got fresh fruit, a bag of baby carrots and a drink. It was perfect! So keep the kids meal in mind if you're looking for something other than a big meal.:thumbsup2

Nooooo!! I've been talking the meals up to DBF for the last week! Disappointed we might have to change our dining plans :(

We just ate at Flo's the first week of Sept and it was with the new menu. I can't compare it to the old as this was our first trip, but we loved it. The sandwiches were very good and filling and the rotissierie chicken was great. They did let us choose whatever sides we wanted with all of our entrees, so we all got what we wanted.

sharonabe do you by chance have any pictures of the chicken plate? I'd possibly be willing to try the chicken if you can still choose your own sides.

I'm glad you got to choose your side dishes and hopefully they continue to allow that. Any idea if they still have gravy for the mashed potatoes? ;)

The food at Flo's overall is not very good. The french toast they have at breakfast is good but its more like a heavy dessert than breakfast.

Agree! I just had to try this french toast I kept hearing about. I had it yesterday. I am glad my mom ordered the regular breakfast. We each split our order and shared. Good thing too cuz that was way too much dessert for breakfast with that french toast....and I love my sweets.

i love the new changes there are a few things there I may try now. I just wish I could find ribs and fries again I hate that we lost that from the pilots restaurant in dca.

It seems like they turned the roast beef and chicken into sandwiches. I'm sad. I liked the roast beef and mashed potatoes. You can get a sandwich anywhere, having a turkey or beef meal was unique and more diner like. :sad1:

This is how I feel about the "uniqueness"...especially since you can also get the roast beef sandwich at Jolly Holiday, sounds like.

The food still sounds good and I'm looking forward to some reviews. It's just the menu now doesn't stand out, and with all the unique places to eat at DLR, I may not make extra effort to go here.

Flos for dinner was always a must do for me and hubby so imagine our disappointment upon the new menu. We both walked away sad. Flos to us was old fashioned comfort food and we loved the turkey and roast dinners. I think I almost cried. I do plan to contact guest services to express our deep disappointment in the change.

The roast beef and cheddar sandwich suspiciously sounds like the one that was served briefly at the FF&P Café, and then was at the Jolly Holiday Bakery. It was tasty...

I hope it's the same one ... it was very tasty and we used to get it all the time.

I may do the same before I even get to the parks this fall. On our first trip to DL in 6 years, we hit this place twice. Now it's just another cheap counter service joint.

I just ate there for the first time a few days ago. I split the roast beef and cheddar sandwich with my friend; didn't know you could ask for a different side or I would have opted for something other than cole slaw. I thought it was just ok. I'd call it typical DLR food--ok, but nothing I would go out of my way to get. The 'cheddar', btw, is just some kind of yellow sauce. My other friend, disneyluvr2 (who posted earlier), got a kid's meal and it actually looked better than ours, with fruit, carrots, a small turkey sandwich and a drink all included for less than our sandwich and slaw. I think hers was around $6 and ours was $11 or something like that.

It's worth noting that when DCA was re-dedicated and Cars Land opened in 2012, TDA made a big deal out of promoting that the menu at Flo's had been carefully crafted to reflect the type of foods historically served on Route 66 and which Disney Imagineers encountered on their field trips along the old route while planning Cars Land. So this menu change--which I have to believe has to do with saving money--is literally a rocking back of Cars Land's original theming.

Sorry, we didn't take any pictures. It's pretty much a standard rotisierrie leg quarter.

And to whoever was asking about the gravy, none of us got mashed potatoes, so I don't know.

The menu lists BBQ ribs--has anyone tried them? Are they comparable to the ribs we used to get at Taste Pilot's Grill?

JadD75-I hope there like them or better, I miss those ribs so much it was always an extra meal we all agreed to do but now we don't go there. Maybe ill grab fries from there and go to flos for the ribs LOL

I too Mikey believe it is a matter of saving on cost.
I had dined there just once so far. I enjoyed my kid's meal (Did not have a big appetite) I use to have until now , had in mind to return at some point for one of those wonderful looking home cooked kind of meal.
Oh well.
