Floridays....are fireworks visible?

We'll be there in October and wondering if we would be able to view fireworks from this location if kids are sleepy and in bed by then. Also, any recent feedback on the resort?

we were there in March and we did see the fireworks for both Universal (Much closer) and one of the Disney parks (no idea where they were coming from). We faced the quiet pool - you would have to face this way. We were also on the 4th floor (you'd need to be high up to see them). But I can tell you they were FAR away! Not quite the same magic as being there but nice I guess to sit on the balcony and watch. You are "fairly" close to the parks.....about 10 minutes with NO TRAFFIC!

It's a lovely resort. The pool bar is great and the rooms are nice. There is a resort waterpark being built right next door so construction but didn't bother us at all. Let me know if that waterpark is done when you go!

I am planning on going to Floridays early Feb 2009 and was finalising my travel plans directly with Hotel though I booked thru TravelRepublic. I asked them a few questions at front desk about Fireworks & extra costs and here was the reply.
1 Fireworks are generally seen (at a distance) from Unit C but as they have to assign teh units in sequence due to them being owned by investors, they cannot guarantee we will get Unit C.
2 I was surprised that though there was no mention on TravelRepublic(or i did not see it) there are extra payments for our 8 night stay of 102GBP Sales Tax plus 60GBP for Service Fee driving up the cost by another 162GBP (depending on shift of currency but close enough)
I would have appreciated if TravelRepublic & others would "ADVISE" that there are additional charges such as Sales Tax & Service Fees. Anyway will be there 6th - 14th Feb & post me feedback. Fingers crossed
