Hey everyone!

I've asked on the main boards, but I know that I need Canadians to answer this question. What is the weather normally like in Orlando in December? :confused3 I've heard that it can get really cold, but is that "cold-Florida-style" or "cold-Alberta-style"?? I doubt it gets THAT cold, so please please please help! :) Does the humidity play a factor in December as well?

Thanks!
MK

We made our first trip to WDW in Feb. It was so cold we needed fleece jackets and magic gloves for the first two days and we are from Calgary. I suspect the weather will be quite cool in the evenings. The humidity plays a huge part. It is either hot and muggy, warm and muggy or cold and muggy:lmao: If the clouds clear you can get a nice lower humidity day however.

Actually we've gone quite often in December and the weather can be cool in the evening -- where you need a jacket and cool during the day to where you will need a fleece. It can also be warm enough for shorts and t-shirts day or night. In other words it can be almost anything. I see you're going somewhere around the second week so plan for early fall temperatures -- Alberta style -- it'll never get really cold by your standards or mine for that matter.

Not much rain either and low humidity. It's a great time to go

The weather will be warmer than Canada. Light jacket at the most.

Florida in winter is at the mercy of cold fronts. Most of the time it's warm with cool evenings. But if a cold front pushes through then it will be cloudy and rainy for a day or two ahead of the front and then when it passes, watch out. That's when it becomes crystal clear sunny skies with the wind shifting to out of the north and it will be cool to cold during the day and cold at night. Cold can be 40's and 30's at night, highs 50's and 60's days. (F) Freezes are rare but can happen during winter nights. As high pressure over the northern U.S. drifts further east then the winds shift back to southerly and we warm right back up again.

We should not see any of what HAM HAM just posted.....I HOPE!!

Well, in 2000 (I think) I was at WDW and had to wear my leather jacket, sweatshirt, toque, scarf and gloves to go to the parks - it was freezing! The weather is so unpredictable at that time of the year. It is better to be prepared (or just buy a toque at Disney!)

Maybe we are just super tough but we have done both DW and DL in Jan and I'm sure we were just lucky over the weather but we have never needed either gloves or fleeces (although now this time I will pack them, yikes). Kids swam in CBR pool while we partook of cocktails and we all did TP in Jan 2003. We survived to tell the tale, even have pictures. Can share if needed. What I found was good is if you have those pants that zip off legs into shorts they worked really well at this time of year. I didn't have any but both hubbie and kids did, on in the morning, off during the day, then back on for pm.

Thanks for the info everyone! Because we are leaving here mid-December, we'll already be bundled up with gloves, jackets and the sort, so no need to pack any of that. :) We will bring a couple of fleece jackets and alternate between jeans and shorts and we'll see how it works out.. I'm hoping we have at least a couple of warm days so we can go to Blizzard Beach and do some Kali River Rapids.. :)
