Florida vs Camera

I was looking for tips on how not to repeat my camera's last trip to Florida. It was in October of 2001 (saddly not Disney related, but very close to the parks), and when I got there from Califorina, I discovered that my point and shoot style digital camera would fog up through the course of the day. The end result was a lot of night pictures of Florida.

Now, I have since up-grades to a new SLR, but am wondering if this is a usual concern, something that happened to only me, and what are some of the things I could do to lessen the risk of it recurring.

I live in Florida and take many many many pictures (over 3,000 on my "new" camera since Feb 4th) and have never had an issue with my camera fogging up. Previous to my new camera I have had other cameras with no fogging problem either.

I've had these issues with my lenses in Florida also. It's not the camera or lenses fault. It's the camera coming from an air conditioned area into the humid area of the Florida outside. After a few minutes, the camera reaches the same temp as the outside and the lens clears up. I just don't rush right out side and try snapping pics till the lens clears. Wiping won't help until the chill of the A/C is gone.

Me too!

Even my SLR has this problem. But l agree that after a little while it clears up and I am able to take pictures.

I guess my camera is just used to the humidity or I don't take photos after immediatley leaving an A/C building! Good to know!!!

I read on a differnt message board that in order for this to not happen you could wrap your camera in a towel while in the hotel room. This keeps the camera at a more constant temperature. Now i dont know if its true or if it works but i think it would definitely be worth a try.
