Is the Villas Club different than the regular Florida Vacation Villas?

I should have posted our experience with Florida Vacation Villas Club 1 after our stay a few months ago. We were at a different condo (Westgate) the week prior to staying at Florida Vacation Villas Club 1. Just so you know, these were my first and only condo experiences, so Westgate is all I have to compare Florida Vacation Villas Club 1 to.

Florida Vacation Villas Club 1 didn't appear to be maintained very well. Our lock stuck and was hard to get into until we knew the "trick" - not a problem you expect to have at a public facility. The doorknobs to bedrooms and bathrooms were loose and one fell off. There was only one door out of the condo and the windows were screwed shut so that they couldn't be opened. Neither management nor maintenance was on site and neither were easy to reach for assistance, even during posted hours. The manager had a very unsympathetic attitude toward problems.

Dishes and glasses were mismatched, missing, and or chipped. However, cookware and small appliances were well stocked and in good condition. Beds and sofas were comfortable. The wood furniture was sturdy, but had a definite worn look.

The condos do not have wi-fi. There is a small internet cafe within a store in the area.

I forgot to mention that Florida Vacation Villas Club 1 is a management company that manages SOME of the units at a particular condo complex. I'm sorry, I can't remember the name right now. There are other management companies with units in the same complex. Florida Vacation Villas appeared to be one.

Thank you for posting. The no wifi is a problem for us. DH has to do some work while we are on vacation and needs a place with wifi.

I have been to a Westgate property and will never stay at one again. It was by far the worst place we have stayed in Orlando ever.

I am curious, did you stay at the Westgate in Orlando or the one in Kissimmee?
We were at the one in Kissimmee and our experience was very good - great customer service and the unit was very nice. That made our experience at Florida Vacation Villas 1 that much more of a let down.

Westgate Vacation Villas in Kissimee.

The 2 bedrooms are all on the lower floor and it is so poorly designed that when the people above us walked it sounded like a heard of elephants.

After TWO nights of no sleep.....people above us were up until 2 to 3am every night and it was just horrible noise, we asked to be changed and spent much of a day packing up and moving.

I complained the first night. The front desk gave me the brush off and said they wouldn't do anything until I complained twice. The next night we called at midnight and someone came over and heard it and said that he agreed with us.

So, we finally moved.

The other issue we had was that the front desk lied to us and told us we were not allowed to use the amenities without sitting through the timeshare. She pushed HARD for us to go.

We found out later that the VIP table in the front actually sold amenity cards for $30 for the week for the whole family.

GRRR!!!!
