I went last year at the end of August. My only suggestion is to plan on washing some clothes or take down additional clothes. You just seem to get muggier and the clothes don't feel that clean. Count on damp everything - I sat my towel outside my balcony to dry - which it didn't. And I had problem with my camera fogging up when I would first come out of the AC resort.
The rain is pretty cool. It rains every day for about 10-20 minutes then warms up even more after it. But the timing is the cool part - it's almost like someone switches the rain on and then off.
I think FL 100+ humidity and heat is different than the rest of the northern country. So just slow down a bit, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and have fun.

I leave in 13 days, so I HAVE to keep watch, as my trip will most likely have to be canceled if anything Develops further.
