Well as you may know shopping is my fave pastime, as you can tell by the tag lol

so part of the week trip in September is to shop (while Chris and my dad are safely away at the gun range and unable to whine about the amount of items my mum and I are capable of buying).

Hey its not my fault they drop us at the mall doors and tell us to call them when we are done lol.

Anyhow, so far the plan is to go to the following places...

The Florida Mall, for the Yankee Candle store, Disney Store, Department 56, Torrid and Sears.

The Mall At Millenia, my mums looking for a wedding outfit, plus theres a lovely hallmark store as well as a Yankee Candle store and Bloomingdales.

Prime Outlets, to see whats changed since they took over Belz.

Walmart, Target and Big K of course lol.

Any other places to suggest?

Also does anybody know if any of the stores carry mother of the bride ranges?

Thanx Anna

Anna, I am pretty sure I can safely say that nobody here shops more than you when in Florida ;) So, if you haven't tried a particular shopping mall, you can probably bet your bottom dollar that no-one else has :rotfl:

There are other malls slightly further away such as West Oaks and Fashion Square but neither are in the same league as the Florida Mall or Mall At Millenia.

Maybe Pointe Orlando? - there are some decent stores again there now.

This is a good one. Located just 30 minutes drive from I Drive.

The last couple of times we've gone to Florida we have gone to the Altamonte Springs mall - less touristy than the Florida Mall.

The new mall at Prime Outlets (Beltz) has recently opened, it opened on friday 10th of August. There are quite a few shops that have opened but half the shops are not opening until 2008, i still had quite a few bargains though:thumbsup2

I quite like the Premium Outlets, just off the I4, i always seem to buy alot whilst i am there!
I was not impressed with the Florida Mall this time, not sure why, might have something to do with being pregnant and not being able to buy every outfit in sight!

David's Bridal has a huge store over near the Mall at Millenia. It's in the strip shoppiig center between BJ's Wholesale Club and Home Depot.

Prime Outlets International is the new name for the old Belz Outlet mall. They tore down Mall 2 and replaced it with a new outdoor style shopping plaza. A Neiman Marcus outlet opens at the end of August.

we went to prime on saturday and got some bargains ,but like cinderella said there a few shops not open

We went upto Prime outlet last Friday(opening day) for Disney outlet to find it closed. Website says this weekend will be a ribbon cut and lots going on. Might have another trip up to see if Disney shop has opened, or give them another week and leave it until just before we go home.
Glad we don't like shopping too many outlets here, half a holiday can be taken with shopping if thats what you are into.

We were there on opening day as well, we popped there for awhile before going to the airport (about 2-4pm) and ended up buying an extra rucksack to fit it all in!

I am sure you would of spotted us a mile off, DH with his Liverpool top and DS9 with his Chelsea kit and we were flying into Manchester, the cheek! :scared1:

We were really disappointed about the Disney shop, i am sure it will be open soon.

Pointe Orlando was a massive disappointment for me to be honest, was expecting much more from it.

Mall at Millennia was easily my favourite shopping destination, followed by Orlando Premium Outlets :)

I don't disagree Luke, when Pointe Orlando first opened it was very good, lots of designer stores, an excellent FAO Schwarz Toy store plus many more, got good memories of staying at the Rosen hotels just opposite and having a walk across.
Unfortunatley over the years many stores closed and it kind of dwindled away , you have to pay to park there which is a major disadvantage as of course all the malls are free.
They are trying to attract the crowds again by improvements and we were going to go back there next March to see what it is like now.

there is a big music store (everything associated with music: instruments, recording equipment, synthesizers, etc etc) just off I-drive (you enter from I-drive).

If you're interested, i'll try to find the name and exact location.

It has a wide selection and pretty good prices.

We don't usually shop at all when we're at WDW (other than for disney related stuff in WDW and swimsuits and surfing shirts at TL and BB), but my daughter had to have some emergency replacement equipment on our last trip there for her WDW audition. We didn't think we'd be able to find the appropriate store, but we were very pleasantly surprised.

Has anyone been to Orlando Premium Outlets?

Is is any good?

Hi

I believe the new shopping experience is called the LOOP on the John Young. It was still being built last time I was there. Has anyone been?

It is very good, easily the best discount shopping experience in Orlando.
Only thing I would say is it can be a bit 'hit and miss', a lot of the goods are out of season or didn't sell at the bigger stores originally.

Sportswear is particularly good value for money here.

We visited The Loop last year :)
We have friends who live just around the corner and they took us for coffee :goodvibes

I can't remember the shops that were there, beyond an ABC Liquor store, the coffee shop and a shop selling candles and lovely household items.

Found a link though:
