Florida Shopping

Has anyone been to Orlando Premium Outlets?
Is is any good?

Stefy, not sure what brand names you are in to but OPO has outlet stores for, among others: Puma, Adidas, Nike, Reebok, Diesel, Miss Sixty, Levi's, Bebe, Nine
West, Guess?, FCUK, Ralph Loren Polo, Calvin Klein and too many more to remember them all.

With your £ versus our $, you can go crazy there!!

This is a good one. Located just 30 minutes drive from I Drive.

This looks like a brilliant place!! we have just programmed into into Chris's sat nav, so we are definatly going, its so good to try a new shopping experiance, I like the look of the following shops, crafts & stuff, Hallmark Gold crown, oh course Yankee Candle, Party city, well pretty much all oh em lol, wonder how long I will get in there? without Chris passing out.

The loop also looks great, with yet another Yankee Candle store!!!!plus theres a dress barn always get lovely pjs from there and old navy!!

ooohh Im going upstairs now to take out half the clothes I was going to take for some more room!!

Best of the bunch in my opinion for all round shopping.
We found this year that some of the shops in the premium were cheaper than the same shops in the Florida Mall for the same stuff, i.e Sketchers were $5 cheaper with a 50% off the second pair.
Most of the footwear places have 50% off second pair offers.

Get the general guide to the mall at guest services and there is a 20% off voucher for Perfumania, or at least there was in July. :)

my shopping has started!!

I just called the Yankee store in the Florida mall to hold back a load of candles for me lol (to the tune of $300 shhh dont tell Chris) for me to pick up the day we arrive

eck cant wait

The Disney Outlet store at the Premium Mall is really good most of the time and will give you a Disney fix as you're not going to WDW...

Well as you may know shopping is my fave pastime, as you can tell by the tag lol

so part of the week trip in September is to shop (while Chris and my dad are safely away at the gun range and unable to whine about the amount of items my mum and I are capable of buying).

Hey its not my fault they drop us at the mall doors and tell us to call them when we are done lol.

Anyhow, so far the plan is to go to the following places...

The Florida Mall, for the Yankee Candle store, Disney Store, Department 56, Torrid and Sears.

The Mall At Millenia, my mums looking for a wedding outfit, plus theres a lovely hallmark store as well as a Yankee Candle store and Bloomingdales.

Prime Outlets, to see whats changed since they took over Belz.

Walmart, Target and Big K of course lol.

Any other places to suggest?

Also does anybody know if any of the stores carry mother of the bride ranges?

Thanx Anna

Buena Vista Outlets (or whatever its called now).

Turn off the I-4 at Buena Vista juction and turn south (north is towards Buena Vista crossroads, Hotel Plaze boulevard, downtown disney etc) down 535(536?) back towards US192.

Been back again for the 3rd weekend and its open at last, a nice spacious store and quite a lot of different stuff to Premium Outlets, maybe with it being just open they wanted to have better stuff than other stores but worth a visit.

wheres th best place to buy, seasonal things like halloween decs?

there is a big music store (everything associated with music: instruments, recording equipment, synthesizers, etc etc) just off I-drive (you enter from I-drive).

If you're interested, i'll try to find the name and exact location.

I would be very interested in finding out about this store as DS11 plays guitar and DS13 plays drums.
Any info would be great thanks.

Many of the larger strip shopping centers have "dollar" stores such as Dollar Tree, DollaRama, etc. They usually have lots of Halloween decorations, everything priced at $1.00 each. Also, over the next few weeks a large number of Halloween stores will be opening in vacant shopping center spaces throughout the Orlando area. These are just temporary stores but they carry every imaginable costume and decorations. I don't recall any in the Attractions area though. You have to ask people if they've seen any Halloween stores around and usually locals can recall seeing one here or there and can tell you how to get to it. Finally, Wal-Mart and Target are good for some costumes and decorations as well.

ok i'll try to find the name of it...
it's just off I-drive, not too far from Sweet Tomatoes and Wet and Wild...
there's a road that you turn onto from I-drive, that's actually like a big circle with stores on it...(the road is the opposite side of I-drive from the side of Wet and Wild)...

i'm going to go searching for the name of the store...and the address if i can find it...

thanks!....i think that's it....
it was the little store that used to be in DTD and then they moved out to the big store, just off I-drive....

that's how we found it actually.....2 years ago, my daughter needed something for her guitar for her audition, so we went to DTD to get it at George's and discovered that it had moved out to I-drive....so off we went to find it.....
and we were very pleasantly surprised by the selection and prices...

thanks for looking that up!!!.

i just noticed that you're in orlando and coming home soon - sorry....i know how difficult that is..
and i agree - 25 days just isn't long enough....(even though people always think we're crazy for spending so much time there)....
time to move to orlando (well for me that would be, time to move to WDW)....

Hate coming home but we are lucky enough to always have next 1 or 2 trips planned. 7 weeks to Vegas/Disneyland. Easter back here for 2 weeks. Must be hard for anyone going home not knowing when they will be back.

very true....although, considering that vegas is hell on earth to me, that wouldn't be much consolation....but Disneyland more than makes up for it...

1st time to vegas, only going for 4 nights as I am not sure about it, everyone I know who as been loves it, my Brother goes every 2 months and is looking for property there, already keeps a quad bike there. We will find out in about 7 weeks.

you might like it....everyone i know loves it too....but not me (or my kids or husband)...

we did enjoy the shows we saw: the two cirques (mystere and O) and another show whose name escapes me (FX? maybe)...
and we had fun playing the nickel slots and going around and seeing all the hotels (and riding the various thrill rides)....
and we liked the hotel we stayed in...

but, we hated the fact that there is smoke EVERYWHERE...
it's like you're in a pressure cooker of smoke (even in the malls, where it's ostensibly illegal).....
and to make matters worse, everyone drinks...more than a few to the point of falling down drunkenness, which i find unpleasant...

we're not sorry we went....it was an experience...
i'm sorry we were there when it was too hot for us to venture out into nature...
we're avid hikers, but July in the desert isn't the best time (to say the least)...

one more place that we enjoyed...i'm trying to remember the name....wait....it'll come to me....a game place....Gameworks....it's a bit like disneyquest, but different.....the kids really enjoyed it...
it's not as nice as the gameworks in detroit, but it's definitely fun, if you like places like that....
